I'm sitting in church listening to a few moms try to hush their babies, they look embarrassed and frustrated and I feel that pain.
Been there.

The moms think it's a distraction and don't really want to be at church right now. Or they wonder why their baby won't be quiet like some others.

This reminded me of something that was told to my mom in church while trying to wrangle baby twin boys and myself, (I'm paraphrasing here because I was 6 or 7 when I heard it), "it's a joyful noise, to have children in the church. It signals growth for the church and a foundation for the child."

How kind was that person?? A simple statement of encouragement but it affected us all these years later.

A baby crying in church IS a blessing in disguise because that child's mother cares enough to try to raise that baby right now matter how frustrating it is for her.

That message stuck with me all these years. It might be awkward and painful to do the right thing sometimes but we have to stick it out, for the long term benefits.

Moms of cranky babies in church, people taking a different path than the rest of their family, people who choose to rise above bad situations and lose friends or opportunities for it, I see you. More importantly, in this uphill battle, God sees you.

Don't give up because it's hard. It pays off in the long run, so keep on trucking. You'll grow and learn from it. I'm proud of you for trying your best to do the right thing!

1 Corinthians 3:13-16
Each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire. Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?

Keep doing Gods work and doing what would make Him proud. You got this!
