*sorry for the delay, finals week here! Keeping it short. Hope y'all are doing well!*

(Carrying on from last time, taking a verse we don't think much about in English, and looking up the old Greek/Hebrew of it and finding the original meaning so that we can dive deeper and understand more.)

This chapters word is "shabar", shabar is a very vivid/descriptive word that means to burst, to break, brokenhearted, crush, destroy, hurt, shatter. It's used all over the Bible, usually taking about crushing enemies. Read Isa 45:2!)

Let's take a look at this verse we have all heard a million times and haven't thought twice about:

Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

Now let's insert the other words:
He heals those whose hearts have been broken, burst, destroyed, crushed, shattered..Shabar.

At first it was a feel good, catch all verse that we throw out anytime someone is having a hard time. Putting the extra emphasis behind it, it feels more personal. It reminds us of the times we have felt this way.

Whatever you are struggling with, whatever is crushing, shattering, and destroying your heart, no matter how bad or heavy, leave it at the foot of the cross. God WANTS to bind up your wounds. He is a healer and father after all. But you have to take that first step. Take the first step away from what is destroying you and run to the one who can make you whole again.

Let's be real here, no wound heals overnight. Healing is painful, messy, and requires patience. But I just want to encourage you to take that step. He is right there waiting for you, don't think you are destined to be described with the word shabar forever. It is not healthy, nor is it what God wants for us.

*thats all for now, I have to get back to studying 😅 any requests?
