Meeting Slenderman

"So..." I began, "Where is Slenderman anyway?"

"Around here somewhere," Lazari said, "Why, do you want to talk to him?"

Sally shook her head. "He's out Lazari."

Lazari turned towards Sally, raising an eyebrow. "Why's he out in the middle of the day?" she said, her voice questioning.

Sally laughed, "No, No Lazari... I mean he's outside."

"Oh... Ok..."

I laughed, nodding, although feeling a bit baffled considering that we were all currently outside. It made me slightly confused when she made it sound like we were somehow suddenly indoors and that Slenderman was outdoors and honestly, it just made no sense to me, but I went along with it anyway.

"Well, I probably should talk to him when he returns..." I said, "As I do need to do my proxy test." I paused collecting my thoughts. "So uh... what do you girls like to do for fun?"

Lazari was the first to respond, though, she completely ignored my question altogether. "Hey! I found Slendy!" She called out, "He just came back!"

Sally laughed, "I like playing with Lazari... oh, and my teddy bear too." she then turned to face Slenderman. "Hi Slendy, why were you outside?"

I sat there off in my own little world, my thoughts trailing off. It wasn't until I heard his voice that snapped me back into reality.

"Hello," Slenderman's voice rang,  "I thought some humans found the mansion again, but it turned out to be some squirrels."

I jumped a little at the sound of his voice. "Slenderman sir, I didn't hear you come near..." I muttered, a bit shakily to be honest, "I was wondering if you have any tasks for me... for my proxy test."

Slenderman stood before me, his hands clasped in front of him. I looked at him with a hopeful expression but he shook his head and I sighed.

"Not yet child..." He said, "Get used to the mansion and it's residents first. It is important that you know the area and the people here as well, you have a lot to learn before your ready to start as my proxy."

I nodded slightly, "Yes sir." I turned and headed inside; the mansion sure looked a lot bigger on the inside than it had on the outside, and that thing looked huge. I shook my head and looked around, finding a place to sit that was away from others.

I could feel my heartache as I remembered my parents and how they were no longer here. I sat down silently on a nearby couch as I reached into my jacket to pull out an old photograph from my left breast pocket. It was a photograph of me and my parents; the only thing I had left to remember them by.

"Hi there, I'm Leilah. You must be new here."

I jumped and quickly tucked my photo away before looking over towards the voice. "Hi, I'm Amythest."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Zalgo's daughter. I don't know who my mom is though." Leilah's voice appeared to be calm and almost comforting.

"Zalgo..." I breathed, "I've heard of him."

Slenderman had joined Leilah and myself in the room where I sat speaking to us as I mentioned Zalgo's name. "He is EVIL. Never speak to him, he, is our enemy."

I nodded silently as Leilah opened her mouth to speak.

"Yeah... that's my dad," she said. "I kind of HAVE to talk to him."

"You can." Said Slenderman in reply, "I meant Amythest." He shook his head, crossing his arms across his chest. "He wants to take his kids back and kill us all." He said, "He wants to take over the world."

I shook my head, cringing at the thought. All my life I could have never imagined anyone to be so heartless and cruel... but that was before I met Slenderman and having to learn about Zalgo. My mind will never be the same again.

"Believe me, I don't plan on talking to him sir. I'm still trying to figure out who killed my parents." I said, "I have no family of my own now sir... no siblings, no parents, not even a partner or kids."

"It was probably Zalgo or someone from my brother's, Offender's, mansion." Slenderman said in reply.

I nodded, releasing a sigh. "That would not surprise me if it was sir..." I mumbled, "Hey, how many kids are here anyway... this place is huge."

"There's 4. 5 if you count Nina."

"Huh... I thought there'd be more." I said with a slight chuckle. "I can shapeshift! Wanna see?"

"I know you can." said Slenderman, "And not in the house please."

"Ok, sir." I sighed.

Still thinking of my parents, I felt alone. It was hard to believe that they were actually gone, yet they were and had been for quite some time. I closed my eyes, thinking about my parents, but it was only for a moment as I began to feel Slendy staring at me.

"Are you ok child?"

"I miss my parents' sir," I said.

Slenderman placed a hand on my shoulder, "This..." He said, "is your family now."

"Slenderman, Sully is here!"

"Someone else please deal with that!" He said hastily, "I'm busy!"

I raised an eyebrow at him, looking from him to Leilah and back again. "Who's that?" I asked.

Slenderman stood up and shook his head, "That's Liu's other personality. He comes out when Liu get's really mad."

"Oooh..."

Leilah Nodded, "Nina did it."

Slenderman groaned, "It's ALWAYS Nina....."

Leilah agreed, shouting at Nina. "Nina, leave him alone!"

I couldn't help but chuckle as I turned to face the direction in which Leilah called at, looking on to see a 14-year-old child coming in our direction. My only observation was that thing may get a bit interesting.

"FINE!" she called out, "There are more interesting things here anyway, like... this new girl!" Nina appeared before me and I took a step back. "Hi!" she said, sounding rather hyper.

"Why hello there, what's your name?" I asked, a rather stupid question considering I already knew her name. Oh well, a force of habit now I guess.

She smiled, "I'm Nina! Jeff's mine so don't even think about it."

Leilah shook her head, "You're only 14."

"I'm mature for my age!" Nina called out.

I laughed and smiled at her, "Don't worry..." I mumbled. "I won't take Jeff Nina." I said, "I like women anyway."

Nina nodded, seeming to appreciate my acknowledgment that Jeff was somehow hers or would someday be hers. Although I personally didn't see how that would work, that's my own thoughts on the matter. Then again, I've heard and seen a bunch of strange shit in my day so in all honesty here who am I to judge?

"Seriously though kid, he isn't my type... no offense to him or anything."

Once again Nina nodded, "Ok!" She said.
