"Hey Masky!"
I observed Masky as his name was called, his body tensed immediately as Ticci Toby's voice echoed in the distance. I smiled slightly, half amused at Masky's reaction; I could tell that he dreaded this certain individual in particular.
It didn't take long for Ticci Toby to be right up beside Masky and invading his personal space. I could tell that this was something that Toby enjoyed doing, despite Masky's clear disapproval in the matter; it was something that Ticci Toby did without fail.
Toby brought his hands up, his pointer fingers extended.
"Don't. You. Dare." Masky breathed in sheer annoyance.
"Do what?" He said innocently.
Masky opened his mouth to speak, though I couldn't really see his mouth due to his mask. Before Masky could get a word in, Toby had already began his playful poking.
"Hey Masky! Hey Masky! Hey Masky!"
Masky groaned and I swear, if I was able to see his eyes; they'd be twitching. I raised an eyebrow, somewhat tempted to help Toby with his playful pestering; however, I knew better than to anger an already annoyed Masky. After all, he was the Head Proxy and I needed to make a good impression on him. Especially, if Masky and I were to ever do a mission together; my best bet was to remain relatively on his good side.
"Oh God Toby." He groaned, "Why."
Ticci Toby didn't reply. He just stood there repeatedly poking at Masky.
"Why do we keep him..?" Masky muttered beneath his breath.
I shrugged. "I don't know. But I like him."
"Hey Masky! Hey Masky! Hey Masky!" Toby repeated.
"Toby..." Masky hissed, "I'm busy."
I watched silently, not wanting to make matters any worse. I could tell that Masky was annoyed enough as it was; I didn't want to be a nuisance.
Suddenly, Slenderman entered the room. I bowed slightly and waved politely to him. "Hello sir." I said, quietly. "Is everything alright?"
He didn't respond, his attention was solely on Masky.
"There is dirt all over the place..." He said quietly, "MASKY! Clean it up."
Masky flinched but played it off as if it was caused by Toby's obsessive poking.
"Yes sir!" Masky said.
"Very good Masky. You have an hour." Slenderman bowed his head and in an instant he was gone.
Masky sighed, muttering under his breath. "Fuck my life." He pushed Toby away, needing his personal space back. "Toby, you heard the boss, I got a mess to clean so please, for the love of god, STOP POKING ME!"
"But..."
"No Buts Toby. Please, I'm busy." Masky said firmly.Toby sighed but nodded sadly, "Ok..."
I watched silently as Ticci Toby slinked away. I kind of felt bad for him, I knew he was only having fun. He always seems so sad whenever Masky turns him away. I was beginning to wonder if Masky was the only one he ever truly bothered like that, or if there was anyone else he could playfully pester.
Masky quickly brushed himself off and set to work cleaning up the mess. I followed him around as he worked, wanting to observe him, but also wanting to help.
"Masky..." I said, "Can I help?"
Masky shrugged, "Sure, go ahead."
I grabbed a broom and dust pan, smiling as I started to help Masky clean up the mess that Slenderman had ordered him to clean.
