Maybe I've lost the moodiness
Or the turmoil of previous
Am I relatable still?
Does relatable matter?
I write for me
Like a bird, I am free
Uncaged and untethered
To soar and spread my feathers
My words are for my joy
As I find my soul I let go
I discover and discard
I am me, in that truth only am I free
I am no longer lonely in the night
My heart sings to a tune
And another its harmony
The miles heightening the magic in our symphony
I am no longer lonely in the night
My dreams come true
And my fantasies taken flight
So I scheme before I slumber
But not of hopeless intent
Of vision and aim
Of color and freedom
Is my mind great?
That I cannot say
My musings are strange still
And scattered like the stars
I am reborn
Come out of the reclusive
Awakened from long hibernation
A phoenix from ashes
Tendered in my crucible
I am joy
No longer a creature of veiled despair
I shout and dance again
With a story and scars to my words
I am returned
And now I write again
My words closest kin to poetry
A brand of writing their own
I am returned
To share my thoughts again
My thoughts are not of before
But I pray they remain this way
Forevermore.
