I'll Take It || Chapter 16

I slide my phone into my back pocket as we made our way into the mall. I decided to wear a pair of black leggings and a navy blue jumper, a pair of galaxy Vans to match. My hair was its normal messy waves. Ashton was wearing black converse, skinny jeans, and a Led Zeppelin baseball tee. As I pushed Aiden in his stroller, he slid his arm around my waist. "Ash, not in public. What if fans see us?" I say, pulling away from him.

"Right. Right." he said, keeping a distance. We made our way to Starbucks in the food court. I ordered a hot chocolate and a chocolate chip muffin, Ashton ordered an iced cappuccino and a blueberry muffin. And for Aiden, I just packed him a small container of Cheerios.

We finished our food and drinks and threw out our garbage, making our way out of the food court. Just as we're walking out, a voice speaks up.

"Ashton Irwin." the voice said, kind of in a flat tone. We turned around and a girl with medium length brown hair is standing with her arms crossed, her boobs basically falling out of her tube top.

"Oh. Hi Courtney." Ashton spoke, kind of quietly. "What do you want?" he asked kind of harshly.

"I just wanna know how you're doing." She said, walking over and sliding her hand up his chest, trying to be seductive, but Ashton just looked uncomfortable. He stepped away from her. She then looked over at me and an angry face was plastered on her face. "Now who's this? Is she your whore?" She crossed her arms, sticking her hip out.

"I'm Amelia. And no we're just friends." I say, trying to sound nice so I don't sound like I wanna rip out her extensions.

"I bet you're just using him because he's famous." She snarled.

"So," I try to change the subject." How do you two know each other?" I asked.

"I'm his ex." She snapped, putting her hand on her hip.

"I have no exes." He spoke. "I have y's, as in why the hell did I date you?" I could barely contain my laughter. Her face went into a shocked expression, which made me wanna laugh even harder.

"Wow, you haven't changed. You're still that dick from year 12." She said, turning around while flipping her hair behind her shoulder, before walking away. When she's far enough, we start laughing our asses off, tears started forming in my eyes.

"Did you see her face?!" I howled, clutching my stomach.

"Oh my god! It was priceless!" He said, wiping under his eyes.

"I-I . Can't. Breath." I said, in between laughs. We took a couple minutes to catch our breaths before we walked away from the food court.

Ashton's POV

We're walking down the halls looking for stores to go into. There's a lot of different stores, from candy, to clothes, to toys. There's one for almost everything. We've already been to a store with toddlers clothes. I got Aiden a shirt that says 'Daddy's Boy'. We're passing by another store when Amy speaks up."Oh my god! Can we go in there?" She's shaking my arm. I turn my head and she's pointing at this small jewelry shop. I nod and we make our way into the shop. As we're looking into the different glass cases, a lady with big brown eyes and hair comes up behind the counter.

"Can I help you find anything?" She asked, a smile on her face. Amy looks back down into the case, her eyes tracing over all the gems.

"Oh my god, this is beautiful." She points to a necklace that has a butterfly wing with two rubies in the middle.

"Would you like to try it on?" The lady asked. Amy nodded excitedly. She opened a drawer, pulling out the necklace. "Do you wanna put it on her?" She asked me.

"Ok." I say, grabbing the necklace. Amy turns around, holding her hair up over her head. I put the necklace around her neck, attaching the ends. She let's go of her hair and heads to a mirror. When she spots her reflection, her mouth was agape.

"Oh my gosh." She said, her eyes not leaving the diamond wing.

"That looks beautiful on you." I say, coming up behind her. "Is that your birth stone?" She nods.

"How much is it?" Amy asks, turning around to look at the lady. When she told us, her face fell. "I can't afford something like this." She says, disappointingly. She undoes the necklace, taking it off her neck, before handing it back to the lady. As the lady grabs it, Amy's phone starts ringing. "Excuse me while I take this." She says, walking out of the store.

"Wait." I turn to the lady and stop her from putting the necklace away. She looks up and smiled.

"I'll take it."
