"I am hoping you could do this favor for me, Jong Kook-ah. There is no one else i can trust of it than you." MR. Oh says to him before he leaves the old man's office.
Jong Kook is now walking along the corridor back to his office.
He does not know how to respond. The old man has just asked him to go on a business trip for the next three months, and he is having a hard time refusing.
The matter is very important to the company and its result would be one of the biggest deciding factor of who will be the next Perseus CEO.
And Mr. Oh is giving him this great opportunity. But he is hesitating.
It has only been last night since he had a fight with Ji Hyo.
He is trying not to take Ji Hyo's decision personally.
Of course, she has to make crucial decisions for her company. That is the main reason why it's at its peak right now, because she never settles for less. So he tries to understand why she has to choose it over him.
But her decisions has been disappointing him lately. He has been getting the feeling that she is more of a CEO than a wife, and last night she has just confirmed that when she got all worked up with the mere mention of pregnancy.
Though he is not in a rush, he is still disappointed upon hearing the anger in her voice when she talked about it. It is like their marriage is getting in the way of her success.
And it is undeniably a kick in the butt for him. As if things in the office wasn't enough to pressure him.
Then there has just been too many huge fights between them lately. And he could not deny the fact that both of them keep disappointing each other with their schedules that never seem to align.
He is afraid. Their marriage seems to be rolling over a very thin line of thread lately, and very soon at that. And he doubts if going to another country for months would do any good to them.
They could barely even see each other face to face lately even though they are living in the same house.
It's either he is looking at her sleeping or he is talking to her half asleep. He has the scary thought that it is not impossible for Song Ji Hyo to completely forget she has a husband the moment he gets out of the country.
He doubts he could do any decent work with the knowledge that he is thousands of miles away from her. And he does not know how to tell Ji Hyo about it, too.
He sighs. He's disappointed. But he also misses her.
He tries to focus on his work. But as soon as he tries to focus, his mind would just drift somewhere else, mostly to the times of him being with Song Ji Hyo, kissing her, arguing with her, doing nothing with her.
He just wants to talk to her, resolve this unsettling conflict between them, and pull her in his arms. He is certain the mere feel of her warmth and the scent of her hair would effortlessly melt all his uneasiness away.
Unable to contain the suffocating emotions in his chest, he gets up from his swivel chair and wears his coat.
"This is unfair. " he mumbles as he leaves his office.
Why does he feel like he's the only one distracted and bothered by this lack of time for each other?
After a ten minute drive, he arrives at Ji Hyo's company building.
The employees smiles and greets him as soon as they recognize him. He even notices a few giggles and whispers here and there.
He rides the elevator all the way to the top floor, where Ji Hyo's office is.
