"How could you not tell me about Ji Hyo?!" Jong Kook exclaims the moment Jae Seok answers his call.

He is in the living room, facing the glass wall overlooking the city below.

He is thinking about a lot of things, his guilt seems to be eating his brain out.

While he is in another country, his wife is having the hardest time coping up with her pregnancy alone.

She must have really had a hard time, and she did not even bother to call him just because she thought she might disrupt him from reaching his goal.

Him and his self-centeredness!

He would've gone crazy if something bad happened to her and his child!

"Ahh, so Ji Hyo told you already?" Jae Seok asks from the other line.

"Told? No. I caught her! She didn't seem to have any plan on telling me."

"Yah, she really didn't know how to tell you."

"'Oppa, I'm pregnant.' How hard is that?"

"Yah, you should understand her. And be patient with her. She's been really sensitive these days."

"All the more reason why you should've told me earlier!"

He freezes the moment he remembers something.

He scratches his head impatiently as soon as he remembers what he said to Ji Hyo the night before.

No wonder you got fat.

He closes his eyes in annoyance. "That's why she got so pissed when I called her fat."

"We tried calling you when we found out. But Ji Hyo sent Dong Hoon's phone flying the moment she catches us calling you. And we respected her decision. And not to mention she threatened us."

"But still..." he insists.

"Yah, you should really be patient with her. She cries at the smallest hint of anger in your voice. This pregnancy is making her unusually soft."

His eyes widen, remembering that he had just snap at Ji Hyo. "Okay, okay." Jong Kook responds urgently, heading towards the bedroom. "Let's talk more when we see each other. Bye."

"Do anything she wants!" Jae Seok adds before he hangs up.

Jong Kook pockets his phone and enters the bedroom again.

He panics the moment he sees Ji Hyo crying in the bed, her hands busy drying her unending tears.

He hastily hauls himself into the bed, and crawls next to her, quickly drying her tears with his fingers.

"Why-Why-Why-What's wrong?" he asks without pause, staring at her tear-stained face.

Her nose has gone red from sniffling, and she sobs instead of answering him.

"No, no, don't cry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." He wraps his arms around her and gently rests her head over his shoulder, brushing his hand up and down her hair to sooth her.

"I didn't mean to raise my voice at you."

He continues caressing her hair, patiently waiting for her to calm down as he processes the surprise in his mind.

He really couldn't suspect of this as a joke. His wife is really pregnant. He could tell from the way she is crying right now.

If she is in her normal self, she wouldn't be crying like this just because he snapped at her. She would've been cursing at him by now.

But here she is, letting him hold her in his arms as she cry.

It takes a few minutes before her sobs subsides and only her sniffling remains.

He could also feel her relax in his arms.

It is when it really sinks on his thought.

His wife is really pregnant with his child.

Warm chills spread all over his chest. It seems to be the greatest thing that has happened all his life, and he is willing to drop everything just for her and their coming child.

He hugs her tighter, his happiness overwhelming him that his eyes starts to tear up.

He takes a deep breath to keep the tears from falling, and he plants a long kiss at Ji Hyo's head.

He wonders why he even thought of getting angry earlier when he should be jumping in joy.

"I'm here now. You're not alone anymore. Oppa's here now." he mutters, pressing his palm at the back of her neck as he plants deep-felt kisses on her forehead, down to the bridge of her nose, and to her lips, his love and longing fully waking.

His lips linger on hers, its softness and warmth making it hard for him to pull away.

Then he feels her lean more, her lips now responding to his kisses. He is reminded of how she tastes like roses and marshmallows and hot chocolate that it leaves him wanting more.

He misses the way her tongue brushes his lips and how her breath smells of love and sincerity and innocence mixed with desire.

"I miss you." he says in her mouth.

She finally pulls away, still keeping her face close as she looks at him in the eyes.

"I miss you."

He looks down at her tummy and presses his palms against her belly, feeling its bulk and warmth.

His chest feels so light at the knowledge that he is holding another life within his palms.

He couldn't help but smile as he looks at Ji Hyo's face again.

"I can't believe this."

She just smiles, the smile that he missed so much; sweet and lovely and innocent and loving. The one that he got the only privilege to see.

"How many months is it already?"

"Turning three months."

Disbelief forms in his face. "Three months?" He asks, aghast. "You mean, those times I'd been a jerk to you, you were already...?"

She shrugs, her smile unfading. "I didn't even know back then."

"I'm really stupid." he cusses himself, remembering the times Ji Hyo got into a fight because of him, got wounded by broken shards of glass because of him, got knocked into a floor of vomit because of him.

He realizes she was already pregnant that time. He couldn't have forgiven himself if something happened to her back then.

"I'm fine. I'm doing great." she assures him. "And let's sleep. My eyes are about to fall off."

He hastily fixes her pillow. "There. You can lie down now."

She pouts and shakes her head, making him confused.

Then she smiles as she pushes him to lie down and then rests her head over his shoulder, wrapping an arm across his body.

"Better." she says, rubbing her cheek against his chest like a puppy.

"I couldn't agree more." he answers as he closes his eyes, cherishing the scent of Ji Hyo's hair filling his sense of smell.

Her head fits into the curve of his neck perfectly, like it is where she should be.

He plants one last kiss on the crown of her head. "I love you."

"I love you...Kim Jong Kook..." she responds in a low, sleepy voice, like she has already reached the next level of sleepiness but still bothered to answer him.
