Stubborn Wife

"This should be on the mannequin." Ji Hyo tells her staff in one of her branches.

She is supposed to be just passing responsibilites to the department heads, but she decided to do a branch tour to make sure everything's okay before she takes her leave.

The store staff immediately obeys her and wears the shoes she is referring to the mannequin.

"It's already half past five." Kelly says to her under her breath.

Ji Hyo jerks her head to her secretary. "Is it?" She asks, her eyes widening.

Kelly nods.

"Why didn't you remind me?" She is panicking.

She is supposed to meet Jong Kook in her office right now.

She heads towards the door.

"Yah, Song Ji Hyo!"

She jerks her head to the entrance, knowing she is doomed even before she could see the owner of the voice.

Jong Kook's brows are furrowed as he walks towards her direction.

"How did you know I was here?"

"The right question is; why are you here? Aren't you suppose to just assign people their task today?"

"And it's exactly what I'm doing." She nods shamelessly.

But Jong Kook just shot her a glare, knowing her all too well. "I heard you had been jumping from one branch to another since this morning."

She clenches her teeth. She ought to just fire the person who busted her to her husband.

"TSS. You stubborn woman." Jong Kook seeths when she doesn't bother to reply. Then he turns to Kelly. "Kelly. You know Ji Hyo will be taking a leave starting tomorrow, right? I trust that you'll be keeping the company in check."

"I will." Kelly says, looking at Ji Hyo. "I'll keep you updated."

"Thank you, Kelly." Ji Hyo says to her.

"Then let's go." Jong Kook takes her hand and clings it against his angled arm. Then he leads her out of the store, nodding at Ji Hyo's employees as they pass.

"When are you gonna start listening to me?" He asks as they step out of the store.

Ji Hyo rests her cheek against Jong Kook's shoulder instead, pouting and looking up at him with her round eyes. "Just let me off this once."

"And now you're trying to get away with it?"

Ji Hyo just shows him her wide smile, making Jong Kook look away with a scoff.

"Aaahh, this woman. Seriously." He mumbles, unable to resist the smile forming from ear to ear.

He leads her to the side of a white BMW and opens the door for her.

"Is this...Dong Hoon's?" she asks, familiar with the car.

"Yes. I borrowed it for tonight." He gently pushes her to climb up into the passenger seat.

"Why? Where's your car?" She asks as she watches him buckle her seatbelt across her body.

"It's with him." He simply answers and closes the door.

Ji Hyo watches him with curiousity as Jong Kook crosses in front of the car and climbs up the driver seat.

She could see the mysterious glint in his eyes that is making her intrigued.

Watching him smiling as he drives away, she couldn't help but beam.

He just looks so good with his eyes scrunched up in crescents as he smiles, and he looks so cool just by looking straight ahead and driving.

"What are you smiling about?" He asks as he takes a glimpse at her.

"I'm just happy." She says, smiling from ear to ear.

He stares at her for a moment before turning back on the road.

He scoffs. "This pregnancy is gonna drive me crazy."

"Why?" She asks, leaning forward to take a look at his face.

He is biting his lower lip to keep himself from smiling like an idiot, but the glow in his eyes betrays him greatly.

"You might give me a heart attack, Song Ji Hyo."

She giggles and leans against the back rest. "But where are we going?"

"You'll see." He simply says, making Ji Hyo even more curious of what Jong Kook had in mind.

hello, spartacers!

I am so sorry for the delay of update. Adulting is really hard, haha. Gotta balance work and study for my Licensure exam, that barely have enough time for my passions and hobbies.
