Ji Hyo is running out of breathe as she looks around the busy streets.
She runs around, ignoring the pain in her feet caused by the shattered pieces of glass that she had stepped on the other day.
She comes along a street of restaurants and spots her husband.
Her heart clenches as she sees her husband.
There, sitting in the pavement and leaning his back against the boulder with plants with his head hang low, is her husband.
She was sleeping in her room back in her parent's house when she suddenly received a call from Jong Kook's number.
She did not answer it, but a text message came saying the owner of the phone is passed out in the street.
She immediately left the house with just a coat over her PJs, her inside slippers still on as she hastily rode a taxi to the said address.
The stranger who called her stands up and draws near her.
"Are you Mong Ji Hyo?" he asks, his eyes scanning her from head to toe.
She follows his gaze and realizes what he is looking at.
She is still wearing her PJs under her coat and her inside slippers. Her hair must have been really messed up from sleeping, too.
"Yes. Yes, I am." she says, panting.
"Here you go." The stranger says, giving her Jong Kook's phone.
She takes the phone from the man. "Thank you. Thank you for calling me."
"No problem."
The man leaves, and Ji Hyo hastily bends right in front of Jong Kook.
"Oppa! Are you alright?" She asks, leaning in to see his face.
He lifts his head and looks at her with drunken eyes. "Oh? It's Song Ji Hyo."
His drunk smile does nothing but make her heart hurt.
Jong Kook isn't really the type that would go all out just because he likes to.
She must have hurt him so badly.
He must have been really pressured lately.
He must've had enough.
She chokes up. She isn't used to this.
She isn't used to seeing him so vulnerable.
"Let's go home."
She yanks his heavy arm over her shoulders and half carried him in getting up.
He is too heavy that she thought her waist is going to break. They manage to stand up, but Jong Kook loses balance and almost falls back again.
She stands still and strong to keep Jong Kook's balance.
"Let's go. You can make it. Don't pass out." she keeps telling him as they walk, swinging from left to right and right to left along the street.
Ji Hyo-ah..." he mutters.
Ji Hyo's eyes water.
She never wants to hear his voice this weak.
She never expected herself to hate hearing the sound of her own name.
He had always been her protector, her sense of security, that it feels strange for her to see him like this.
He is her strength. And with him weakening, she feels like she's getting weak, too.
Her heart aches for him.
