Ji Hyo's phone is ringing again.

But her heart just breaks whenever she sees Jong Kook's name on her screen.

It hurts her so bad that he left that night.

It is the only time she ever said she was tired, and that is all he needed to leave.

She wanted him to be the one fighting for the two of them that time.

But no. At one single word about her being tired, he left.

So she continues what she is reading in her computer.

"Yah, Song Ji Hyo!"

She lifts her gaze towards her glass doorway upon hearing her name.

There, in the threshold, is a very annoyed Kwang Soo.

She catches a glimpse of her employees craving their necks from their cubicles to get a good look at him.

"Yah, how did you get past security?" she asks.

Kwang Soo's face turns stony at her question. "Seriously? Does this face look like a criminal to you?" he asks, pointing his own face as he strides nearer to her desk.

"Sort of." Ji Hyo says matter-of-factly. "But what are you really doing here?"

"Answer your damn phone!"

As if on cue, her phone starts ringing again.

"No." She says stubbornly.

Kwang Soo impatiently takes the phone from her, swipes it to answer, and presses it towards her ear.

She is about to hit him when she hears Jong Kook's voice on the other line.

"Ji Hyo-ah." It sounds weak and guilty and sorry that it makes her hold the phone herself and listen.

"I'm sorry I'm gonna leave your side again." Jong Kook continues. "I'm doing what you want for me. I'm gonna prove myself again."

He pauses, and it is long enough for her to feel the pang of pain in her chest.

"Wait for me, Ji Hyo-ah..."

Ji Hyo blinks back tears and only listens, taking deep breathes as to not let out her sobs.

Even Kwang So gives her space and goes to sit in the lounge for awhile, looking at his phone and acting like he isn't listening.

"I have to make sure I'm gonna be better than I am right now. I'm gonna make sure I won't be making you cry that hard again. Wait for me...I love you..."

And as if he isn't even waiting for her to say she forgives him, he hangs up.

Her tears escape her eyes, rolling down one after the other as soon as she puts down her phone.

She sobs silently and sniffles, resting her head against her hands as she pours it all out.

That's when she feels Kwang Soo pat her in the shoulder.

"He's coming back. For sure." He assures her.

And he stays there, soothing her back and lets her cry for as long as she wants.

Half an hour later, she feels like her throat has dried up from crying, her eyes feeling puffy, her nose still runny and the handkerchief that Kwang Soo handed a few minutes earlier is already wet with snot and tears.

But she has stopped sobbing like crazy, and she looks around.

She realizes that Kwang Soo had closed the blinds so no one else would see her crying, forcing her to admit he's got manners of a gentleman.

"Are you feeling better?" Kwang Soo asks, now taking his hand off her shoulder.

She nods and stands up.

But she suddenly feels like the world has suddenly spun around, making her collapse to the direction of her desk.

Kwang Soo has quickly held her arm before she could totally hit the desk.

"Yah, you said you feel better." he says.

But she is busy staring straight, waiting for her vision to clear, to argue with him.

She blinks a couple of times as soon as it clears up.

"I'm fine." she insists and heads to get herself a glass of water.

She gulps it all down and then slowly breathes deeply, her stomach slowly settling down from being queasy.

She feels like her lids had gotten tighter, that just explains that her eyes are starting to swell from crying.

Her tears roll down again before she could even stop it.

"Yah. I thought you feel better now." Kwang  Soo says when he sees her crying again.

"Kim Jong Kook's away again! How am I supposed to feel better?!" she whines, letting out her sobs.

Tears flood through her face like a bottomless dam, her cry now hysterical, making Kwang Soo freeze in place as of he doesn't have any idea what to do.

A moment later, he draws closer to her and just sooth her back, letting her pour it out.

Hello! As you all know, this story is about to end. No more next book or anything. So I'm thinking about writing another spartace story with an action concept? Will anyone read it? Lemme know in the comments. I'll go for it depending on the feedbacks. :)

As always, I am grateful for the reads, for the readers who never stopped supporting this since Book I. Let's continue supporting Spartace no matter what happens. Hwaiting~!
