Indonesia, over a week later
"Hyeong!"
Jong Kook man-hugged Kwang Soo whom he came to fetch from the airport.
The younger one just contacted him that he got a vacation leave for a week and he wants to stay with him for a couple of days
Jong Kook is almost getting used to adjusting in different places at once because of his flights from one country to another.
But he is working like a robot. It reminds him of the days before he got married, before he got Ji Hyo back.
The days where he just got up in the morning hoping for the day to be over again.
The days had been like that for Jong Kook for over the past month in different places that he was surprised he had gotten this long.
His heart still aches.
He could still remember the day when he left the country, crying in the plane because he hadn't seen even a mere shadow of his wife before he left.
The others told her she was okay, that she needs time. That leaving for a while would be for their own good.
And their friends keeps updating him about her every time he makes an international call, making it less hard for him whenever he misses her.
They said she was doing fine, though she looks lonely and she seems to really miss him.
But that was all they were telling him.
They were saying exactly the same thing that it started to sound scripted and suspicious.
It makes him want to go home even more.
"Yah, why do you have to bother me during your vacation?" he asked Kwang Soon as they head towards his car.
"Ehy, Hyeong!" The younger one complains. "Didn't you even miss me?"
"Well, I miss cussing you out."
"TSS. Mean freak." Kwang Soon mumbles.
He glares at Kwang Soo. "Want me to be a mean freak and leave you out here?" He asks just in time for him to spot his car and presses his key to unlock it.
"Trust me, you don't want to do that." Kwang Soo says in a threatening tone.
Jong Kook stares at him, reading him. What could Kwang Soo be keeping from him?
"Why? What is it?"
Shaking his head, Kwang Soo opens the trunk of the car and loaded his luggage.
Jong Kook slides inside the driver's seat and waits for Kwang Soo to get in.
"So how is Seoul?" He asks while they are driving out of the airport.
"As if you care. Couldn't you be more specific?" Kwang Soo insists, successfully reading his point.
He sighs in surrender but shot Kwang Soo a piercing glare. "Fine. How is Ji Hyo doing?"
A triumphant smile spread across Kwang Soo's face before answering. "She's doing great. Or at least she's trying to show everybody that she is."
Jong Kook spares a questioning glance at his younger friend as he drives the car into the highway. "What do you mean?"
"What do you mean 'what do I mean'? It means she misses you. And needs you. A lot. So badly. Especially these days."
Jong Kook's empty chest starts to throb a pang of pain at the sound of Kwang Soo's statement.
He could barely imagine his wife alone at their house every night without feeling like his heart was being squeezed out of chest.
