Jodie looked up at the clock that hung at the back of the small diner she worked at during the day. The time it read was in fact extremely wrong and had been for as long as she  could remember. Her shift started at seven, but according to the clock, she started at half five and so at half six according to the clock one customer who came in regularly made the little bell above the door ring. Jodie didn't even look up from where she was clearing away the plates left by those who'd ordered breakfast early before their day at work.

''The usual I take it?'' She asked stacking the plates on the counter for someone from the kitchen to come out and take them away to be washed.

''You know it,'' he replied, sitting himself down on one of the five stalls that ran across the countertop she had gone to stand behind, where she took a little notepad and wrote down the order he didn't even need to tell her.

It didn't take long for Jodie to collect his order because even the chefs out the back had anticipated his arrival that morning. Also since he was the only in the diner at that time it allowed Jodie to have a nice conversation with him. Their conversations always took her mind off working at the diner, at her dad's club and the fact her dad keeps asking her to take over said club.

''So anything interesting happening today or can't you tell me because Mr Eminem will denounce your friendship if you did,'' Denaun let out a laugh before he bit into one of the pieces of toast that had been placed on his plate.

''Well I can tell you he pissed over the reviews for his new album so he's writing non-stop diss's aimed at people, so don't tell anyone that,'' he replied wiping the crumbs from his lips.

''Don't worry I'll make sure not to tell my cat or that creepy guy who sits outside of his house and stares at me every time I get in and out of my car. Cause lord knows what'll happen if either of them found out," she smiled along with Denaun as he continued to eat and she wiped down the counter to make it look like she was doing something of use.

''You find a date to your, wait whose wedding is it again?'' Denaun questioned  a quizzical look on his face. He definitely knew because she spoke about just the other day and now he couldn't remember if it was her cousins or sisters, hell it might even be her cats'.

''My cousins and no I haven't got a date. Don't really care if I have one or not, all men are jerks,'' she shrugged re-filling his cup with coffee after she'd offered and he nodded.

''Ow that really hurt me,'' Deanuan frained hurt causing Jodie to burst out laughing, which aren't her a glare from one of the kitchen workers, who had been stuck with a pile of dirty dishes to wash.

''Well near enough all men are jerks. That better?'' He nodded, poking at the last piece of bacon with his fork, before resting his cutlery down on the plate with a noticeable clatter.

''Done?'' Jodie then questioned taking the plate from him and adding it to the workers slowly shrinking pile.

''Yeah thanks Jo, I'll probably see you tomorrow,'' he spoke, pulling out his wallet, placing his payment for the meal and a little extra on the counter before hightailing it out of the door before she tried to give him the tip back.

Sighing Jodie took the money, pocketing the tip while putting the rest in the till. Looking up at the clock, she inwardly groaned as she realised that Denaun had only taken her mind off everything for only fifteen minutes. Usually, he stayed longer, maybe he really was busy today or the clock had got even slower than it had already.

''Hey Jodie we got some customers; go take some orders,'' the loud shout of her manager brought her out of her thoughts and back to the land of the living.

''Back to work,'' she mumbled as tightened her ponytail, pushed her glasses back up her nose and took a pen and notebook out of her light pink apron pocket.

''Hey man you're earlier than usual,'' Denaun entered the recording studio to immediately be met with Marshall sat behind the mixing board, a pair of headphones hanging around his neck.

''Am I?'' He mumbled taking his phone out of his pocket to look at the time, ''oh yeah I am.''

''Hey listen to this beat, it just got sent to me, think I should put it on the album. Check it out,'' Marshall pulled the headphones from around his neck, handing them out for Denaun to take. He took them at the same time as pulling a second chair over so he could sit in comfort. As soon as it started he could see why his friends liked it.

''You should use it,'' Marshall nodded his head at Denauns opinion at the same time as flipping the top of his laptop open and logging in.

''Ok, now I need your opinion on this,''  Denaun was very confused at first as he watched his friend type and click randomly on his laptop. He had a feeling he was going to be shown more negative views on Revival or a random youtube video that Marshall thought was funny, but to many, it wasn't.

''I'm starting to get worried at what you're gonna show me,'' he blurted out, receiving a playful glare from his friend above the laptop screen.

''Just don't laugh ok. Basically, Paul went through my emails and found some linked to that dating site I used to be on and well this chick showed up,'' Marshall spun the laptop around and Denaun couldn't stop the gasp that escaped him, ''I know Royce said she was hot and all, but that reactions a bit over the top De,'' he didn't answer Marshall at first, ''yo man what the fuck is wrong with you, it's like her pics got you mesmerised. Dude answer me.''

''I... I know her.''
