''Are you going to say yes to anything,'' Taylor complained, rolling her eyes as Jodie exited another website for what seemed the millionth time.
''I have to find something that's comfortable and I don't wanna draw attention to myself,'' Jodie shrugged, typing another shop address into the search bar. They'd been online shopping for the past two hours and Jodie still hadn't found anything thing that she liked. They were confined to the internet due to the fact Jodie didn't want to wander around shops all day with her crutches.
''Jo, it's Coachella for fuck's sake, everybody's gonna be dressed for attention,'' Taylor sighed, lifting the laptop off of Jodie's lap and onto her own.
''Hey, what are you doing?'' Jodie protested, trying to reach across and whip the laptop back, but Taylor managed to move it far out of Jodie's reach. She'd have to physically move to take it back and she just didn't have the effort at that point in time.
''Ordering you some clothes because you're taking too long and it's pissing me off,'' Taylor replied, furiously typing and clicking away on the laptop that Jodie was very aware she wasn't going to get back any time soon.
''What if I don't like any of it?'' She asked, causing Taylor to turn her head to glare at her.
''Oh you will trust me and if you don't wear it at the festival then you can wear somewhere else,'' Taylor shrugged, engrossing herself in online shopping again.
''Can I at least see what you're actually ordering?'' Jodie pipped up after, Taylor suddenly stopped clicking and typing.
''Nope, you'll see everything when it arrivers,'' she responded, a sly smile filtering across her face.
''I love you Tay, but you're making me really nervous right now and everything you ordered just went on Marshall's card,'' Marshall wouldn't take no for an answer when she said she Taylor wanted to buy outfits for the festival. Jodie hadn't been bothered at what she would wear, but on the other hand, Taylor was more adamant to look her best.
Taylor waved her hand, not caring at all about Jodie had just said. Jodie just shook her head at how she was going to be left in the dark about what Taylor had ordered for her; she just hoped that the clothes fitted otherwise that would create a whole other issue that she didn't want to think about.
''Yo, you guys still shopping?'' Marshall had decided to pop his head around the door frame, to see Jodie and Taylor still bickering with each other. He'd been down in his home studio all day, going through beats and seeing which lyrics he felt fitted certain ones and which weren't really for him.
''Yes, but Jodies being a bitch about it,'' Taylor responded, taking the laptop off of her lap and placing it on Marshall's coffee table.
''I am not,'' Jodie grumbled in reply.
''See,'' Taylor pointed out, waving a hand towards Jodie, who'd crossed her arms over her chest, ''she's pissed cause I ordered everything without her seeing it; which I wouldn't have done it if she'd made up her fucking mind,'' she quickly explained as Marshall had raised a concerned eyebrow at the pair.
''Well, whatever comes Jo'll look amazing in it for sure,'' Marshall commented sliding down onto the empty space on the sofa next to Jodie, ''even with this little pout you got going on here,'' he waved circles with his index finger, towards the pout she had on her face.
''Stop it,'' she unfolded her arms so that she could catch his fingers in her hand, ''I'm not pouting,'' she added, which caused Marshall's forehead to crease.
''You saying I'm seeing things now?'' He questioned, she hummed in response. Marshall looked over to Taylor, well where Taylor had been because when he looked up she was no longer in the living room and he was sure he'd heard the front door close in the distance.
''So, this isn't happening?'' he bent his head to trace the arch of her neck with his lips.
''Nope,'' although the hitch of her breath as he placed a couple of extra kisses along the underside of her chin told a different story.
''Hmm, you sure?'' He questioned, this time Jodie moved her head to the side so that she was face to face with him.
''Am I a distraction?'' The question caught him off guard, that was definitely not what he was expecting her to say. There was silence for a moment as he wasn't sure how to reply until she pushed him too, ''well am I?''
''Where's this coming from?''
''I dunno it's just, something someone said,'' Jodie mumbled shrugging her shoulders as she did, before then turning her head away from him and shifting her position on the sofa so that she was sat upright.
Marshall was far from happy at the comment she had just made and was unsure as to how to proceed. He thought about pressing her to find out who had said it, but he couldn't bring himself to see her get even more upset than she already seemed to be. So instead he moved off of the sofa and went to kneel down in front of her, placing his hands gently down on her knees. The second he did that Jodie's head tilted down to look at him and they both looked into each other's eyes.
''I dunno whose going around talking bullshit, but I'm saying this once ok?'' He looked right at her hoping for some kind of sign that she was listening, she nodded slowly. That was all he needed in order to continue.
''You aren't and will never be a distraction, I kept you around because I freakin love you, Jo, you hear me I love you and I'm never ever gonna say you're only around so I have a distraction from my work. I mean I may be an asshole, but I'm not an idiot,'' he knew the second the corner of her lips twisted up to reveal a small smile that he'd said the right thing.
Although as the conversation turned into a makeout session, Marshall couldn't wrap his around who could have put such a thought in her head and that she even for a moment started to doubt their relationship caused him a lot of stress. However, he had to stop thinking about what she'd said because he was starting to get angry and that was the last thing he wanted to do. So he left a mental note to do some eavesdropping at the studio, thinking she could have picked the thought up while she had been there in the past week.
Locking his thoughts away marshall turned his full attention back to Jodie, where she was struggling to not get caught in her hoodie as she was pulling it off, well trying to do a least. It was in that moment as she began to giggle, the hoddie was stuck around her head that matter what she would do to him, Marshall realised at that moment that if she ever left him he wouldn't be able to cope. After watching her for a few more seconds he decided to help her and once the hoddie was finally off and sprawled across the living room floor; all that remained of the struggle was how her hair was no longer flat, but stuck out at random angles.
''Hey don't laugh,'' she pointed out, noticing how Marshall was biting the inside of his cheek and sign she had noticed that he was trying to suppress his signature chuckle.
''I ain't laughing I think you look hot as hell. Fuck,'' he swore as a cushion flew straight into his face, ''oh I was gonna go gentle, but fuck that now.''
''Marshall,'' Jodie shrieked as Marshall pinned her down. It was defiantly going to be a long night.
