Scarlet tilted her head to the side as she took in Jodies's appearance. In truth, Jodie thought she looked absolutely awful, but it was Scarlet's wedding so Jodies' opinion didn't really matter. The dress Scarlet had her wearing was dark green, with a plunged neckline; Jodie left as if she looked like a cucumber and the wore she watched Scarlet stare at her the more she wondered if she was thinking the same thing.

''I hate you so much,'' Scarlet suddenly burst out as she flopped down on the small sofa, a glass of champagne clutched tightly in one of her hands. Jodie was confused, wondering if she looked so awful that Scarlet was debating whether or not to fire her as a bridesmaid. However, that wasn't the case because after a couple more seconds Scarlet spoke again.

''You'll probably look better than me in a plastic bag, than I would in my wedding dress,'' now that statement confused Jodie.

''If it makes you feel any better I kinda feel like Shrek right now. I mean the dress is lovely, but I... I look like Shrek,'' Scarlet couldn't help but giggle at her cousin's comparison. It wasn't long before she had to place her glass down as she snorted the bubbly out of her nose.

''No...no you look great. You can take it off now if you want?'' Jodie jumped at the chance, practically running back to the little changing room, where her clothes had been left.

''Am I keeping this and bringing it over for the wedding?'' Jodie questioned as she came back out of the changing room. The dress was now neatly placed back inside the garment bag it had come in. She now had it draped over her arm left, while she carried her back on her right shoulder.

''Yeah, I mean it fits and looks good so yeah. Just you know don't forget it,'' Scarlet pointed a knowing finger at her, Jodie just shook her head and laughed it off, ''but seriously do you wanna get a drink, make it a miny bachelorette party you know since you can't come to mine?'' Scarlet proposed. Jodie now had a conundrum on her hands, she was supposed to meet Marshall for their first actual date, but she didn't want to be rude to her cousin.

''I'll tell you what how about we do it tomorrow instead. I got unicorns to buy and I may have a little date tonight,'' Jodie opted for the truth hoping that Scarlet would understand why she couldn't go out with her tonight.

''Ok that's fine, just let me know if anything changes,'' Scarlet nodded towards Jodie and they both started to leave the little bridal boutique, ''oh but please don't tell me the unicorn is for your date.''

''What can I say, I like an oddball,'' this time both girls giggled as they made their way over to Jodie's car.

''Joey,'' Maddie squealed with delight as she was greeted at the door, by a big fluffy unicorn which was almost bigger than her, ''mommy look what Joey got me,'' the five-year-old gripped the toy tightly in her arms as she heaved it with her through the house.

''I have one question, Jodie. Why?'' Her Mum came around the corner, bemused as to why Maddie was now clutching an oversized stuffed Mythical creature; I huge toothless grin stretched across her tiny features.

''I made a promise and so I stood by it,'' Jodie shrugged, gesturing to Maddie as she struggled to drag the Unicron up the stairs to her room.

''You are too much sometimes, you really are.''

''I love you too. I gotta go through things to do,'' Jodie leaned up to give her Mum I kiss on the cheek before dashing out of the door, leaving her Mum shaking her head in despair.

Now Jodie just had the one Unicorn squeezed into her car. This one was a little different to Maddie's, considering she'd written inside the little name label that came with it. It was then as she backed out of her parent's driveway, she realised she didn't care if Marshall was joking, he was going to get a Unicorn whether he liked it or not. Jodie had fun imagining what expression he'd have on his face when she eventually gave it to him. That left her smiling until she pulled into her own driveway a good twenty minutes later.

''Somebody looks happy,'' Taylor commented as Jodie appeared in the hallway.

''Just happy that I made Maddie happy,'' it wasn't exactly a lie, but it wasn't the truth either.

''So it has nothing to do with the fact that you're going on a little date tonight?'' Jodie frowned as she bent down to pick up Blink who had trotted out of the kitchen to greet her at the door.

''How do you know I've got a date?'' Jodie question a little confused since she hadn't had time to mention that she had one.

''This came in the post, it didn't say who it was to so I may have opened it. Here, I'm sorry too,'' Jodie placed a kiss on the top of Blink's head before setting him down at her feet. Then she took the opened envelope out of Taylor's hand, taking out the refolded letter to read what had been written.

Jodie,
Here's some important info you're going to be needing for our date tonight. I wrote it in a list so you can tick shit off if you want to or not. Anyway, the list is on the back and I'll see you tonight.
Marshall.

Just like the note said when Jodie flipped the letter over there was a list of what she would need to do before their date. Thankfully, she had already done the top one.

1)In case you thought I was joking, I really do want a Unicorn
2)Wear something comfortable, this isn't going to be some fancy thing (sorry if that's what you wanted. We could do that next time if you wanted, hopefully, there'll be the next time)
3)If you have a blanket of any type bring that with you (it might get a little chilly)
4)Wear comfy shoes too, hell even bring ya slippers I don't care.
5) Follow the directions on the made inclosed in this envelope
6)Enjoy the date (or don't that's kinda up to you really)

That was the end the last thing he's written; sure enough, there was also a map in the envelope, with what appeared to be a building circled and a postcode scribbled on it. Jodie was now even more excited than she had been before.
