Jodie looked at herself over and over again in the floor length mirror. She was debating whether to or not she was dressed correctly. Marshall had asked that she dressed comfortable, which was basically referencing that he didn't actually care what she wore. However, a small part of her felt like he would care, while another contradicted that notion altogether.
Jodie even thought about straightening her hair like she would do when going to family lunches at her parents' house. She'd lost count at how many times she'd picked them up only to put them back down again when she figured it wasn't a good idea. Eventually, she opened the drawer of her dressing table and flung them inside so she wouldn't be tempted to reach for them again. She wanted to go looking like she normally did because that's how Marshall had seen her. So with one final nod and the mirror, she went in search of a fluffy blanket and some comfortable shoes.
All the while Blink sat patiently curled up on Jodie's bed as she hunted around the room for some sort of blanket. In all honesty, the Brunette had no idea why Marshall wanted her to bring a blanket, but she hoped all would be revealed as soon as she meets him at the destination he had marked out for her. Blink ended up having to scuttle away from his position as Jodie dumped a whole heap of blankets on the bed right where he had seconds ago been sat minding his own business.
''Sorry Blink didn't mean to scare you,'' Jodie apologised, bending down to coax the cat back out from where he had hidden underneath the bed.
He nudged her nose against her hand in caution before he then nestled the rest of his head in her hand. It was his way of sating that he forgave her. Jodie smiled slightly moving her hand cradling his head so she could scratch his favourite spot. Blink let out a deep purr in appreciation before strolling out from under the bed and hopping back up onto the bed, this time choosing one of the pillows to curl up on.
Shaking her head, dismissing the actions of her beloved cat; Jodie sat back down looking through each and every blanket she had managed to pull out from behind her wardrobe. After a couple of minutes later Jodie finally found the blanket she was going to take with her. It was a deep purple colour and extremely fluffy. She just hoped that Marshall had planned for them being somewhere cold, otherwise he wouldn't have asked for the blanket. Although if it was warm where they were she came to the conclusion that she just simply wouldn't use the blanket.
With her blanket chosen she decided to have one last look at the list, Marshall had given her and check off what she had and hadn't done so far. Of course, the top one had already been crossed off.
1)In case you thought I was joking, I really do want a Unicorn✅
2)Wear something comfortable, this isn't going to be some fancy thing (sorry if that's what you wanted. We could do that next time if you wanted, hopefully, there'll be the next time)✅
3)If you have a blanket of any type bring that with you (it might get a little chilly)✅
4)Wear comfy shoes too, hell even bring ya slippers I don't care.✅
5) Follow the directions on the made enclosed in this envelope
6)Enjoy the date (or don't that's kinda up to you really)The only ones that hadn't been crossed off where the last two and it was rather obvious that they were the two that shouldn't have been crossed off just yet anyway. Meaning Jodie only had those two things to do, the first was getting to the destination where the date would be and the second would be as Marshall had written 'Enjoy the date.'
Bundling up under her left arm the fluffy blanket she had chosen to take with her; Jodie with her shoes tucked under her other arm along with the list in her right hand made her way down the stairs. Every few seconds she had to look where she was going because the blanket observed her view of the stairs and she didn't want to trip especially when she was so close to finally leaving the house.
''Oh my god are you finally ready?'' Taylor squealed, after hearing the slight thud of the stairs, Taylor had appeared from out of the kitchen to see if the footsteps belonged to Jodie or if Blink had just been playing on the stairs again.
''Yeah, I pretty much ready, I just gotta drive to the place and that's it,'' Jodie confirmed as she dropped her shoes on the floor, before placing the blanket next to them and the letter with the directions on top of the blanket. This allowed her to then sit down on the bottom step of the stairs so she could tie her shoes up.
''Ooh, I'm so excited for you. I've always wanted to go on a date that was like a mystery you know. Most of them are just boring dinner dates at slightly fancy restaurants that serve some shit you can't even pronounce,'' Taylor rambled as Jodie finished tieing her shoes. The blonde continued to gossip until she's finished helping Jodie put her stuff in the car.
''Thanks Tay, um I don't know when I'll be back, but I guess I'll see you in the morning,'' Jodie spoke as she hopped into the driver's seat.
''Good luck,'' Taylor squealed again before waving her friend off.

The directions were fairly easy to follow and Jodie found herself at the destination at around eight. Since there was no actual time on the initial invitation she had no idea if she was early or late. She prayed to God that she wasn't late because she didn't want to have ruined whatever Marshall appeared to have planned.
A sudden knock on the drivers' side window caused her to jump in her seat. Thankfully she calmed quickly when she saw a familiar face peering at her through the window.
''Could've texted me you Ass,'' Jodie remarked after she's wound down the to reveal Denauns smirking face looking down at her.
''I'm here to escort you to Em, he thought you might need help with your stuff,'' He explained allowing Jodie to climb out of her car and followed her as she went to the boot to retrieve her stuff.
''Oh what the actual fuck is that?'' He exclaimed as he came face to face with a large stuffed Unicorn as she handed it over to him.
''It's a Unicorn,'' Jodie replied, not quite understanding his question.
''I can see that, but why you got it?'' Denaun then asked as he tucked it under his arm, while Jodie ended up taking the rest of her stuff herself.
''For Marshall. He'll know why don't bother asking why ok.''
''Ok, well then follow me,'' Denaun gestured with his arm that wasn't currently holding the unicorn.
For the first time, all night butterflies erupted inside Jodie's stomach. She hadn't been on a date for so long and as Denaun led her up the building she'd parked outside long winding staircase she became even more nervous. Despite the nervous, she couldn't help but still feel extremely excited at what was going to happen next.
The Date will be in the next Chapter I promise. I'm so excited for it too☺️💕
