'Does this mean I get to play Ariana Grande all the time now,'' Jodie wanted to burn a huge hole in Taylor. On the way to the club, they had been bickering about who would be there and Taylor was adamant that the only person it would be was Eminem. Jodie, on the other hand, debated that it was just going to be some famous businessman that was well known in the area.
Jodie was wrong and what made it worse was that Denaun was one of the other men who had wandered in with him. It brought her back to their conversation that morning when he had left earlier than usual. Maybe if he's stayed longer he may have let slip they were coming or so Jodie tried to tell herself because the more she thought about it the stranger it seemed that Eminem would be in her dad's strip club of all places.
''You mention Ariana Grande one more time and you won't have a tongue to shove down anybody's throat anytime soon,'' Jodie hissed, causing Taylor to put her hands up in defence and backed away from the bar.
''Jesus Christ Jo what crawled up your ass,'' Davy appeared in front of her now, having heard the tail end of her conversation with Taylor.
''I dunno, maybe it's the fact I've realised my life is boring. I work at the same Diner five days a week, where every Friday the same guy asks me out. I then work at my Dads strip club, Thursday to Sunday. Where I put up with the same dicks thinking I'm a stripper. And the only friends I appear to have are Mitch who is just a regular here and Denaun who is a regular at the Diner,'' Jodie ranted. Davy's eyes widened out how she appeared not to even take so much as a pause to catch her breath.
''Er, I'm sorry for interrupting, but could I get some drinks,'' the voice came from behind Davy, who moved out the way to reveal the man stood behind him.
''Yeah sorry, what could I get you?'' She looked up at him with a smile, recognising instantly.
''Three diet cokes and whatever beers good, I have a feeling my friend will drink anything.''
''He one of those people?'' Jodie remarked turning around the retrieve three bottles of coke from out of the fridge behind the bar, before then grabbing a random beer from off the shelve, ''here ya go, want help carrying them over?'' She asked picking one of the round trays off the side to set the drinks on, along with four glasses.
''Nah I got it thanks,'' he placed the money for the drinks in front of her before then taking the tray with the other hand.
Picking up the money, she counted it. Taking the ten dollars extra and placing it in a separate compartment in the till. The other bartender had his own little slot for tips, although Jodie noticed he didn't seem to get a lot. Pushing the till closed, still a little star struck from seeing and talking to Royce, Jodie turned around and blinked as she came face to face with her father.
''Hey Dad,'' she greeted leaning her elbows on the bar top, while her father sat on the stool on the other side.
''Why are you in such a mood today Jo. I've had two people complain about how all you appear to be doing is cursing at the girls. I know some of them aren't exactly the nicest but it doesn't mean you have to put the mood down in this place because they've pissed you off,'' her father spoke lowly to her, so only she could hear him.
''I know, I'm sorry. I just... I have a bad day. I'll apologise to Taylor and Tammy later I promise,'' Jodie, was sincere. She knew there was a problem when her dad came out to talk to you. He never left the four walls of his office, unless there was a big problem or celebrities in the club.
''Good, now come meet our guests,'' Jodie resisted an eye roll as he beckoned her out from behind the bar, ''oh and bring some nachos, we don't want them running away and never coming back.''
