Chapter 20: L
"Spring Dance Tickets out now!" A man screamed as Louis stood in line, his foot tapping on the floor impatiently looking at the long line that seemed to stretch out forever. He didn't want any of his friends to see him in this line, buying two tickets it would only raise curiosity for who the other one was for, "Limited tickets left!"
As Louis stepped forward he felt a presence next to him, looking beside him he saw the principal next to him. Nervously fidgeting with his fingers he thought about why he could be here. The last time he talked to him he accused him of doing drugs- which he was but nobody needed to know that. Staring up at the principal he extended his hand, Louis hesitantly shaking it.
"Congratulations Louis! Exceptional video, I knew you had talent" He proudly said with a grin plastered on his face.
"Thank you sir"
"Ah, buying the tickets for the spring dance. Who's the lucky girl you're taking" He asked and folded his arms, Louis shuffled his feet uncomfortably hating the sudden stares he got from the people around him.
"Just myself sir, my friends and I are going together" Louis coughed and looked at the shrinking line in front of him, clutching his money in his hand.
"Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful, wouldn't want the schools newest star to be left alone on the biggest night of the year!" He chuckled and Louis laughed along with a fake tone, staring off behind him to see Harry. His nervousness being replaced with fondness, "I'll catch you later Louis!"
As the principal walked off he felt a hand pat him on the back, turning around he saw Zayn next to him, a grin on his face. Louis smiled and turned back to where Harry was to see him gone, disappointment spreading through his body. Louis sighed as he neared closer to the table in which tickets were being sold wanting to get the hell out of here and find Harry, he wanted too see him.
"This line is massive man" Zayn sighed and kept his arm around Louis, turning and whispering in his ear, "Have you popped the question to Harry?"
"Jesus Zayn!" Louis laughed and shoved Zayn off him, "You act like i'm going to propose, and if you're talking about dating? Then yeah, got confirmed about a week ago"
"I'm going to ask Gigi on a date for this Saturday, we should totally have a double date. It'll make up for the fact that you didn't tell me sooner about your love life" Zayn chuckled.
"I know i should have told you sooner" Louis rolled his eyes playfully and looked up at Zayn, "But I've really been focusing on this song. I have to get it in by this afternoon and talk to Josh about potential recordings and publishing and- It's all crazy."
"Sounds crazy Louis, you know I'm proud of you man. It's hard getting off drugs and you my friend have achieved that!" Zayn pat him on the back and Louis looked down ashamed of himself once again.
"Yeah... When's the double date?" he asked trying to avert the conversation away from his supposedly 'fixed' drug problems, he didn't think he could ever tell Zayn the truth, too far into the lie now. Louis wished he could tell his best friend, how bad it had truly gotten, not being able to go a day without, him breaking into his friends house, nothing.
"Uhh... tomorrow. Sorry for the late notice but like you said, you've been busy. "Zayn laughed and stepped forward seeing they were next in line, "I guess we'll also be doubling at the spring dance. Question by the way-"
"NEXT!"The lady screamed and Louis stood forward.
"2 tickets please" Louis said and placed the money on the table, grabbing the tickets being handed to him before walking out of line and paying for his own. When he caught up to him the two of them walked through the corridors and out of the crowds into the cool air, "Whats your question?"
