Chapter 19. Day 10.

                                       Day 10

(Taylor's perspective)

Joe and I wake up and surprisingly we don't hear any commotion. We get up and start walking.

"Where do you think Joe and Billie are?" I ask.

"Who knows. But the game maskers should have done something by now in order for us to all get together." Joe said.

That is quite strange.

They usually make an announcement that we all needed something for all of us to get to the cornucopia but they haven't made much announcements.

"How many do you think are left?" Joe asked.

"Not many. I think just us and Billie and the tribute from two." I said.

Joe seems upset when we realize we are the only two tributes that are left in the same district.

I thought about leaving Joe as well last night but I didn't go through with it. Now we are in an awkward situation.

Maybe I should have?

"Oh." Joe said and I see him fumble with something in his hands behind his back.

I look to try to see what it is then I realize he is holding a small throwing knifes, he looks at me and gives me a sympathetic look.

"I'm sorry." Joe said and suddenly throws one of the small knives at me but I dodge it quickly.

Joe throws another small knife at me and it hits my left arm. I scream out in pain and I take out one of my bow and arrows and arm it at Joe. I let go of the arrow and it hits Joe in the leg. Joe screams out in pain and falls to the ground.

I start to run away as fast as I can.

I start to cry hysterically as I'm running away from Joe as I hear him scream out in pain.

After thirty minutes of running I stop in the middle of the opened field struggling to catch my breath.

I can't believe Joe betrayed me like that!!

I know there is a only a few left but I didn't think he would turn on me!

As I'm sitting in the opened field crying I hear a spinster gift come floating down and it lands right in front of me. I quickly open it up to see a note,

'Remember what you are there to do." -Austin.

I look in the gift to see a big long knife.

Austin sent this?!

Does he want me to kill Joe?

Will I be able to kill Joe?

He tried to kill me like it was nothing!

After everything we went through!

I wrap my wound up by cutting a pice of cloth of my shirt off. I begin walking to try to find Billie or the boy from district two.

I walked for about thirty minutes until I heard shouting.

"Billie!! The lover boy tried to kill me!!" I hear Joe from district two yell.

I gasp,

"Was Taylor with him?" Billie asked.

"No. He was alone." Joe said.

"Oh shit. Do you think they broke their alliance?" Billie asked.

"Possibly. There is only four of us left." Joe said.

"Keep your eye out. Taylor might be close by." Billie said.

You are right.

I wait for a moment where Joe walks away from Billie. I watch them talk for hours until Joe finally gets up,

"I'm going to go piss." Joe said and walks into the forest.

This is my chance.

I carefully follow Joe without him noticing me and he stand behind a tree.

While he was reliving himself I creeped up behind him and with my big knife I wrap my arm around him and help the sharp knife up to his throat. Joe from two freezes,

"So you two lovers broke up?" Joe asks.

"We are not speaking at the moment," I said.

"Are you two faking it?" Joe asks.

I don't respond and stab him in the throat, Joe makes gurgling noses as he falls to the ground and his canon sounded with a loud BOOM.

"Joe!?!" I hear Billie yell.

I hid behind another tree and wait for Billie to come discover Joe's body.

"Joe are you okay?!" I hear Billie yell.

I see Billie run up and found Joe's body.

"Fuck!!" Billie cursed and takes out her sword.

"What the hell are you?!" She yells and frantically looks around.

Billie screams out in frustration and continues to look around.

I try to crawl through the tall grass to get away.

Suddenly the sword lands right next to me to my right missing me by a few inches,

"Fuck!" I curse getting up running as fast as I could.

I run as fast as I can through the forest and I duck again and the sword misses me and hits a tree.

"Ahhhhh!" I hear Billie yell out in frustration as I run away.

I run away as fast as I could and when I know I'm far enough away I stop and catch my breath. I realize the sun is setting and I need to find a place to sleep. I look up at a tree I'm standing next to and I realize this tree is good to sleep in. I open my backpack and take out my rope. I climb the tree and sit on a branch. I tie myself to the tree and the sun has now set.

They start to show who died today,

Joe from two

The sky goes back to normal.

Well at least I know Joe is still alive.

I just hope I won't have to face him.
