Day 5.

(Taylor's perspective)

I'm standing in a tall field all alone with no weapons.

"Joe!?" I call out no answer.

I hear a snake hissing hiding in the tall grass.

"Joe!? Where are you?!" I yell.

The hissing gets louder as it comes closer.

"Joe help me!!" I yell.

I hear the hissing getting closer and one of those pick snakes comes out of the tall grass and strikes at me.

I quickly dodge the snake and try to run away but the snake quickly spins around me blocking me from running away. I turn around and see more snakes coming out of then ta grass to me. Suddenly the snake wraps around me and starts squeezing me to death slowly. I struggle to breath and my vision is blurry. The snakes mouth gets closer to me,  it's tongue out and opens its mouth wide showing its long sharp teeth.

I scream out in fear before it strikes at me.

I wake up to someone shaking me,

"Taylor!! Wake up!!" Joe yells.

I gasp out in shock and sit up. I struggle to breathe and I heart my heartbeat pounding in my ears.

"Taylor! Calm down! You are safe!" Joe yells and I wrap my arms around Joe hugging him tight starting to cry. Joe arm wrapped around my waste as I continue to cry.

It's just a dream.

Joe is here with me. I'm safe.

My breathing goes back to normal.

"I'm okay." I said.

"Did you have a bad dream about those snakes?" Joe asks.

"Yeah but I'm fine now." I said lying.

I get up and stretch. I walk over to my water bottle and drink the last of my water in the bottle.

"We are running out of water again." I said looking at our empty water bottles.

"Is that water in the river drinkable?" Joe asks.

"I don't know. I was going to check the water before we got attacked by those snakes." I said.

"Let's go see then." Joe said.

"What if we get attacked by those snakes again?" I asked worried.

"Don't worry. I'll protect you again I promise." Joe said.

"I know." I said.

"I'm just so scared. I've never been this scared in my life." I said.

"I am too. But we have to take it one day at a time as things change." Joe said.

We gathered our weapons and walked out of our cave. We looked out in the field make sure no one around, without seeing anyone we run out into the field crouching down trying to blend into the tall grass. We make it to the river again and in the distance we see something by the pond. It's the tribute from district 11 by the water of the lake.

The 11 tribute looks at the water more closely and I look to see the water but it looks perfectly normal. I can get him when he is drinking water. I rise my bow and arrow to aim it at him.

The tribute bends down and cups his water into the lake. Suddenly the tribute screams in pain and drops his water bottle. The tribute hold onto his hand screaming in pain. I look closer at his hand and it's bright red with white blisters on it.
