District 12

(Taylor's perspective)

Districts 8, 9, 10, 11 where happy to see us and our stops there went along smoothly.

We are almost to District 12!! Home!!

Will Austin and mom be excited to see me?

The train arrives at the train station in 12 and we walk out. There are dozens of peacekeepers all around as we make our way over to the stage.

We walk into the building and a peacekeeper walks up to me,

"Wait here." He said and walked away.

A minute later a door opens and my mom and Austin comes flying in running to me.

"Taylor!!" My mom yells hugging me so tightly that I can't breathe.

"You survived!" Austin shouts.

"I never thought I'd see you both again!" I shout as I start to cry.

"I knew you would win. I just knew it." My mom said.

I look over to see Joe talking to his parents and his two brothers.

"Are you coming back to live here?" Mom asks

"I'm going to live in the Victor's village for a while." I said.

"What?" Austin asks.

I look over to see the peacekeepers in the room listening in on our conversation.

I hug Austin and mom and whisper,

"I promise I'll tell you everything soon. I just can't come home just yet." I said. Austin nodded in agreement as mom just looked at me confused.

I hug them both again, "I love you both so much." I said.

"We love you too." Mom said.

"The crowd is ready for you both." Liberty said.

I let go of mom and Austin and I walk over to Joe.

"Ready?" I asked Joe.

"Yes." Joe said and he holds my hand.

The doors open and the crowd begins to cheer as they see us. We walk out as the crowd cheers louder as I try to smile as much as possible like I've done with the rest of the districts. Joe and I rise our hands together into the air and the crowd cheers louder.

"Hello district 12!" I said into the microphone and the crowd cheers.

I look down at my cards and put them away in my jacket pocket.

I can practically hear Liberty shout at me to read the cards backstage.

"Joe and I want to say our deepest condolences to the families of Robert Downey Jr and Jennifer Lopez. They will forever be in our hearts and we will never forget them as long as we live." I said.

"We are giving Robert and Jennifer's family a small portion of our riches 1,000 each month for the rest of our lives in help to support for their financial and food support." Joe said and the crowd gasps and cheers.

"I also have a question for you District 12. Who wants to hear some music?" I asked and the crowd cheers louder.

I look to see Cymbeline holding a brand new shiny guitar. I gasp holding my hand over my mouth and the crowd cheers. I've never had anything this nice looking before.

"Is this for me?" I asked.

"I thought I'd give you a better guitar since I suppose you will still be performing in the future. Victor's deserves to have a fancy guitar." Cymbeline said.

I hug Cymbeline and I grab the guitar and put the guitar strap over my shoulder. I look out at the crowd and I see my Brother and mother in the crowd. I gasp and wave at them.

I begin to strum my guitar and the crowd quiets down to listen, I try to think of a song to sing and the perfect folk song came into my mind.

"You can't take my past
You can't take my history
You can take my pa
But his names a mystery
Nothing you can take from me was ever worth keeping,

You can't take my charm
You can't take my humor
You can't take my wealth
Cause it's just a rumor
Nothing you can take from me was ever worth keeping,

Thinking you're so fine
Thinking you can have mine
Thinking you're in control
Thinking you'll change me maybe rearrange me
Think again if that's your goal
Cause,

You can't take my sass
You can't take my talking
You can kiss my ass
And then keep on walking
Nothing you can take from me was ever worth keeping,

No sir
Nothing you can take me from me is worth dirt
Take it cause I'd give it free it won't hurt
Nothing you can take from me was ever worth keeping!"

I finish the song and the crowd cheers.

"Thank you District 12! Have a good rest of your day." I said to the crowd and they cheered as I walked off the stage.

I walked back stage to Cymbeline, Liberty and Joe and they clapped as I walked in.

"That was perfect!" Liberty shouted.

"You both did great." Cymbeline said.

"Thank you." I said.

"We need to go to the Victor's village to see your new home." Liberty said.

"The train is really to depart." Cymbeline said.

"When do you think we can visit our families again when it's safe to do so?" I asked.

"In the next few days after all of the excitement from the Victor's tour is over and the Capital citizens move on from the buzz of the games until next year." Liberty said.

I sighed, "Okay," I said.

We all walked to the train to go back to the Capital.
