Journey Towards Isolation

A lot of people are scared of being alone,

Left in a corner facing the wall of stone;

Feeling the chills that creep into the bone,

They couldn't do anything but silently moan.

In this world of Joneses,

What people do is fit in;

In this world of loneliness,

What I do is give in.

I know how it feels because I am one of them,

Feeling separated from the rest of the anonymity;

I just tricked myself that isolation is a gem,

That being alone doesn't mean you can't be happy.

I've been sailing this vast sea of depression,

What should be abandoned is negativity, not me;

'Cause clearly I can see what's in front of me,

I found an interesting island I can truly call my own.

(This is my first poetry for my 'Paintings and Poetry - A Profound Catharsis' series. As a beginner, I couldn't paint an original idea yet, so I watched a painting tutorial at YouTube and imitated it.)
