My heart somersaults like it has a mind of its own,
Feeling euphoric letting out a series of moan;
My mind tells it to behave like it's supposed to,
But my heart says no, it would do what it wants to.
I know truly that there is no escape,
When the passionate fire meets the devoted fate;
Never have I truly understood my worth,
Until you came and made things work.
"The night is still young," you told me like a knight,
We talked for another hour after seeing each other that night;
I never knew I could feel this fascinating affection,
The kind of love that's not just bound by attraction.
The thing about moments is that you'll surely miss them,
When you're chasing after the next one just like an emblem;
When I am eighty-nine and you are eighty-four,
There will be lots of things we wouldn't and would remember.
I wouldn't remember the number of calories I lost during our first jog a week ago,
But I would remember the way you held my hand and how you didn't want to let go;
I wouldn't remember how many people judged us when they saw us together in the park,
But I would remember how you looked into my eyes, caressed my hands saying how beautiful I am;
I wouldn't remember the lyrics of the first French song you sang for me,
But I would remember how the sincerity of your voice made my heart leap for infinity.
Can we just stay in the here and now?
I wanna cherish this moment with a vow;
Whatever we have is truly not just for a show,
I know it every time I look at the mirror and see myself glow.
I never asked but I got an answer,
I never wished but it came true,
I wholeheartedly want to thank God
For His greatest blessing called love.
