It takes some courage to say how much I like you
Like a little bird's first chirp in a fresh morning dew
On a brittle branch there I nervously perched
A simple "No" from you is like hitting me with a birch
Tears and pangs, all day and all night
I waited for you to come back and hold me tight
... and just when I thought that I have let myself in
Your world that I tried to infiltrate herein
You gave me that final look and bestowed a grim grin
---
Kissing you is like that magic carpet ride -
I didn't think anymore of any law to abide
Those soft lips of yours that caressed mine
Melt and blur all those street lights that shine.
------
Might as well wish for something different
Across the universe, there's someone out there who's great
Happiness is all what this person brings
Don't ever try to fool a happy person's heart
Instead return the joy to keep the fire's art
---------
You said you'd cuddle me and hold me tight
Damn! I don't know but that just feels so right
I'm not sure what I'm thinking but I have to write
I just hope you're gentle, the kind that doesn't bite
----------
Just when I thought it was over
Just when I thought I can finally cross over
Or finally wake up from this lengthy hangover
Another few days are given to this poor holdover.
