She sat across from me and I could not stop talking. Words flew out my mouth as though I were overfilling a tea cup. She seemed to enjoy tea though as every word I said was sucked into her conscious. She actually seemed to enjoy listening to me blabbing along and I loved how my stories could amaze her. To bring her any sense of joy or happiness took my high to a new level. She hung onto my every word that afternoon and I soaked in every smile, every laugh and every response she made. “ok what the fuck are you doing?” she chuckled out as I started to pack the spliff I was rolling. “I’m making a spliff?” Her ‘you got to be kidding me’ look was priceless as I knew in the back of my mind she was judging my pathetic rolling abilities and I had just realized that I probably looked like the biggest douche ever. “and you call yourself a stoner? You should be ashamed!” She took the rolled rizzla from my hand, smacked me over the head and threw it aside. “Hey that took me a while ok!” She shook her head and began to trim the rizzla with her mouth. “yeah I could tell loser! Look, let me teach you ok.” By now she was already pouring the weed into the rizzla with the backie made and everything. I was bewildered, she was literally the coolest chick I have ever met. In less than three minutes, she had rolled a beautiful neat spliff and handed it to me. I bowed down, “I am not worthy” I chuckled out. She let out a small giggle and I thought to myself, what a blessing it would be to hear that laugh everyday and even more of an honour to be the one who makes her laugh.

As we smoked our second spliff, she told me more about her and her family. She had it rough growing up and her mother really had to be a super woman to get her two sisters and older brother through those rough times. I wondered if I would ever get to meet her family.  It was a little bit of a silly thought but I would love to meet the woman who raised such an amazing woman. She spoke little of her dad though, I guess being the cause of her rough childhood she preferred not to think of it much. Oh but how her eyes lit up when she spoke of her little niece, she was her everything and you could see it in the way she praised her. It was amazing listening to her speak of the things she loved and all that brought joy to her. Her heart was full of love that I could feel it surrounding me and I let a silly thought pass through my mind; being loved by this woman in front of me would be the epitome of a heart and happiness fulfilled. The thought however brought a shadow of reality over my heart and it was only amplified when she started to speak about the man in her life. I would have expected her to speak more about him but am grateful that she kept it short and sweet. From what I gathered they had been together for some time and she seemed…content. That was curious to me and I felt a little bit of guilt at the thought.

“Holy shit! Look at the time” she announced as she checked her phone. “Do you realize its been five hours and we have not moved much from this spot?” I was glad she said this while happiness glowing in her eyes rather than concern. “wow it seems you’re right! I feel like we spent a few days here.” Shit! That was maybe too much of an intimate statement! “That’s crazy.” She said as she rolled her eyes and I felt the tint of disappointment on my face when suddenly she lightly punched my arm and said “It was a good few days, thanks.” I did not expect that and could not hide the big goofy smile that instantly slapped itself on my face. “I’ll have to head back home sadly.” I could actually tell she was disappointed at that and it only made my smile grow bigger. “You look a little sleepy though, would you like a cup of coffee to wake you up before you go?” She thought for a second and I feared her answer would be no and that our time for today had run out. “Coffee just doesn’t do it.” She scrunched up her face and although this meant she was going to leave now I couldn’t help but notice how cute she looked like that. “But your tea on the other hand is out of this world!” She smiled at me as though she knew I was hoping to extend our time and it made me wonder if maybe I’m not so crazy.
