Two days have passed and our search for a new living space had not ended. We were usually up for a while, trying to find good houses and good deals that we could afford. The only time any of us really moved was to either get food, use the bathroom, or get some rest in bed. Emphasis on some. Other than that, it was hours of scrolling through listings and looking at floor plans. I let out a loud sigh and leaned back in my chair.
"This is exhausting," I groaned, looking at the two men at my right. Dan was in his browsing position on the sofa while Phil was laying next to him. They looked up at me and gave me a small nod, exhaustion clear on their faces. I could tell they were feeling the same thing I was feeling without even communicating it. I turned back to my screen and scrolled through the listings a bit more. A few minutes later, the sound of all three of us tapping our mousepad echoed through the room. We all mumbled and 'oh my god' before looking at each other.
"Are we looking at the same house right now?" Dan asked, sitting up from his position and looking at Phil's screen. I stood from my chair and quickly made my way over to Dan and sitting next to him, bringing my laptop with me. We all glanced at each other's screens, noticing we all really were looking at the same house. And this house... it was amazing. Looking through the provided images and the floorplan, we all instantly fell in love.
The home was brand new and in a somewhat new neighbourhood with a mostly white and black aesthetic inside. The kitchen, although somewhat small, had a breakfast bar and room for a dining table and chairs. Up some stairs was the first bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a terrace, as well as the lounge. Going up another flight of stairs were two more bedrooms, one larger than the other. A separate bathroom was by the stairs along with a hall closet. And finally, on the third floor, was the fourth bedroom and a small ensuite bathroom. Outside, there was a small backyard that seemed to be the perfect size for a small dog.
"Oh my god... I think I'm in love with this house," I mumbled, looking at the pictures and the floorplan once more.
"That fourth bedroom could be the office," Phil added, pointing at his screen. Dan nodded along, amazement spread across his face.
"Wait!" Dan exclaimed. He turned to Phil and gave a very serious look. "Who gets the ensuite bathroom?" He questioned.
"Me, obviously. I've been making videos on YouTube the longest and I'm older!" Phil smiled.
"Rock-paper-scissors. Right here. Right now," Dan challenged, sticking his hand out in a fist. Phil smirked and did the same. I rolled my eyes and watched as the two fully grown men challenged each other like children. And, from a game of two out of three and a "surprise" all of nothing (called by Phil), Phil won the bedroom with the ensuite bathroom.
As Phil celebrated his victory over the bedroom, I looked back to my screen one last time. "This is really it, huh?" I breathed, looking at Dan. He glanced away from Phil and looked at me, giving me a warm smile.
"Yeah," He sighed, looking out the window. His smile slowly began to deteriorate. "And now it's time to start one of the most stressful events in a person's life." Phil and I both glanced at each other, out own smiled beginning to fade away from our faces.
"Moving..."
