Dan looked closer at the message on my screen before another text came in from Isaac. "Ignore it," Dan said, grabbing my phone from my hand and deleting the conversation. I didn't speak. Although it seemed that I was fine with everything happening around me, I was in pain internally. My mind was constantly racing with the thought that Isaac might hurt Dan or Phil and that I wouldn't be able to do anything to help them. I took a deep breath, trying to hold my emotions and thoughts at bay. Dan looked over to me and gave me a concerned glance. He placed my phone down on the table in front of us and turned to me a bit more. "What's wrong?" He questioned.
"What? Nothing's wrong. Everything's fine," I lied, refusing to look at him.
"Bullshit. Something's wrong," he said, placing a hand on my leg. I froze for a moment before dropping my head into my hands. I let out a small sigh before giving in.
"I'm so fucking done crying about all of this crap that's happening," I chuckled, whipping my eyes with the palm of my hand. Dan placed his other hand on my back, comfort washing over me. A few more tears fell from my eyes and rolled down my cheeks as Dan rubbed my back. I let out a shaky breath after a minute or two before I sat up.
"Feel a little better?" Dan asked. I gave a small nod, glancing up and giving him a small smile. Dan removed his hand from my leg and cupped my face. "Everything is going to be fine. I promise," he said. I blushed slightly as I stared into his eyes. He smirked, letting out a small chuckled. "You're blushing," he commented.
"No, I'm not. You are," I faltered, pulling away and looking down. Dan let out a laugh and stood. I looked up at him and... was that a hint of pink on his cheeks? No, I must be seeing things...
--Time skip because I'm tired and can't write--
Today was the day! Everything was packed up, the keys were given to the next tenant, we even had a moving van! We were finally moving to our new home. A home with enough space for the three of us. A home that was absolutely beautiful.
Placing the final box into the back of the van, I let out a sigh and ran my hands through my hair. Looking back at the old building, I gave a small smile towards it. As much as they hated it here, there were some pretty good memories. Even the times that I got to visit, which were rare when I was still dating Isaac, I felt that the flat was a place they would always remember, even when they were 80 years old and using chairs to get down the stairs. They would always remember their broken flat and everything that happened inside. My thoughts were soon broken by Phil prancing out of the apartment, Dan close behind him.
"Can I drive? Can I drive?" Phil begged, giving both Dan and me puppy dog eyes.
"No!" We both yelled.
"I do not trust you behind the wheel of a vehicle, Phil," I interjected, crossing my arms.
"How come?" Phil whined.
"You haven't driven since you were 18. You would kill us before you even started the car," I retorted. Phil pouted for a moment before giving a small smirk and sprinting to the drivers' side of the truck. "Oh dear lord," I mumbled, facepalming at the thought of my brother actually driving us to the new home.
"I don't think we have a choice now," Dan said, glancing towards me. I gave him a small shrug and close the trucks back, encasing the numerous boxes inside.
"There's no stopping the adult child," I joked, making my way to the passengers' side. Dan chuckled behind me, following closely. I sat in the middle, squished between my brother and his best friend. I looked up to the sky and gave a silent prayer that Phil wouldn't kill us on the way there. The truck started and we began to move.
--Unknown--
Watching the truck drive off down the street, I started my car and began to follow. I was away at a safe distance. She wouldn't notice me.
