It all happened way too quickly for me to even realise it.
That night mom told me we'd be meeting Brian for lunch the next morning, I was dreading it for the entire night.
What if we moved permanently? The two weeks I'd be leaving home for would feel like months.
This was all too much to handle.
"Macy, come on get up" she shook me violently and I groaned pulling my blanket around my head, protecting myself.
"Give me another while" I mumbled from beneath the covers.
"No! I told Brian that we would meet him at one and you need to get ready"
I realised what had happened the night before.
My mom, her boyfriend, last two weeks of summer ruined.
My heart suddenly felt heavier and I had decided I was never going to leave this bed.
"Macy, please" she pleaded.
I eventually relented and threw the covers off me exposing myself to the cold harsh world.
"Wear something nice!" she called from the bathroom.
That gave me an idea. I was going to dress as horribly as I possibly could. I'd scare this Brian away and make his son hate me.
Wow I sounded like a four year old.
I trudged out to the hallway and shooed mom out of the bathroom.
I flipped on the shower head, running my hand beneath the jets of water until it became hot.
I stepped in emerging myself in the water and lathering shampoo into my hair.
I felt nervous and I didn't know why.
I didn't want to make a good impression on him, but now that I realised it, Brian was probably the very reason my Mom had been so happy.
After much procrastination I switched off the shower and grabbed a white fluffy towel and wrapped it around my body.
I stood there shivering, trying to decide what I should wear.
"Hurry up in there! I picked something for you to wear" mom yelled knocking on the bathroom door.
I sighed and unlocked it and followed her obediently into my bedroom.
She was treating me like a four year old
I looked at what she had laid out on my bed.
"Oh god reall-"
"Please just wear it?" I looked at my her pleading green eyes and I just nodded.
I was going to look like a girly twelve year old girl. I just hoped no one attractive was going to see me.
I pulled on the light jeans and rolled them up at the ends.
The top I had never seen leave my wardrobe I was now wearing- pink and frilly.
I sighed and began brushing my hair out, I wasn't going to bother with makeup, there was no point.
My phone made a buzzing noise and I obediently picked it up scrolling through all my unread messages. I only opened Evas.
"Call me?"
"Later" I replied.
I realised what I was going to have to tell her. That I'd be spending the rest of our summer on the other side of the city living with my moms boyfriend.
