Song- Phillip Phillips~ So Easy

The next day was a blur to me.

I woke up later than usual, trudging down to the kitchen where I was greeted by our smiling-faced parents.

I could tell they were nervous. Nervous about what I might say, how I would react.

They hadn't even asked me where I had disappeared yesterday.

I brushed the thought of Jack from my mind.

I couldn't believe what I had done, I got butterflies just thinking about it.

I poured coffee from a jug and listened as the coffee hit the bottom of the cup with a splash.

The silence was awkward and badly needed to be broken.

I knew exactly what everyone in the room was thinking.

"It's ok" I heard myself say loudly.

Brian looked over at me surprisedly.

His eyes were full of hope and he broke out in a smile.

He made me feel guilty for being the way I am, irrational and unapologetic.

"Seriously it's ok" I said at the two of them stared shell-shocked at me.

I sat down in front of them my fingers wrapped around my cup.

Somehow I felt weirdly relaxed.

"I need to go back to our apartment, take my things. And talk to Eva" I announced firmly.

Brian nodded.

"Of course! I can drive you there" he said kindly.

I smiled at him.

I could feel my moms eyes studying me. I was too tired to be angry at her and what she did.

"We need to clear the whole place actually" she said delicately, incase I snapped, she was confirming that our small tenement apartment was history.

It was hard to hear.

I took a long sip of my coffee, leaving only dredges remaining in the bottom of the white cup.

"I'll do it" I say firmly.

Mom opens her mouth to object.

"Seriously, that's exactly what I want to do"

Brian looks over at my mom and she signs and agrees to let me go, do things alone.

In a way it made me upset, that she didn't feel the same attachment to our old home in the same way as I did.

I rose from my seat with my coffee mug in my hand.

"I'm sure Sam would help you" Brian said.

"Sam come here!"

He called Sam before I could protest. This was something I wanted to do alone, I didn't quite feel ready to show Sam where I grew up.

Sam slouched into the kitchen in nothing but his boxers.

"What did I tell you about wearing clothes?!"

Brian groaned and Sam shrugged unapologetically and strutted across the kitchen tiles.

"Sam!" Brian yelled.

"What" Sam yelled.

"Macy wants to go and clear out their apartment. It needs to be done before ye go back to school." Brian explained.
