"So who are you seeing?"

Mom drove steadily down the road, moving smoothly over speed bumps until we stopped at a red light.

I could feel her studying me.

"Two friends from school" I said smiling.

"That's great!" she exclaimed.

I shrugged but regardless I was excited.
Daniel and Katie were the only people who took any notice of me in Chesire High.

"And how are things with Jack?" she asked tentatively.

If she had asked me this question two day before, I probably wouldn't have answered it.
Thoughts of the nights before filled my mind and my heart fluttered.

"Things are really good" I said genuinely, grinning widely.
I would always tell my mom everything, if she asked.
Mom smiled knowingly at me.

"You really like him don't you?"
She sighed with a smile, gazing out the window.
I looked down at my phone, laughing at the snapchats Jack and Jack were sending me.

"Yeah"

"Yeah" I echoed.

Mom was glancing over at me and I blushed looking down at my phone.
We slowly pulled into the car park, crowded with cars and shoppers.

"You ready" mom asked, pulling up outside the front door.
I nodded, my hand gripped on the door handle.

"Have fun" she said and kissed me lightly on the cheek.

I opened the door and stepped outside into the autumn breeze.

"Sam will collect you later!" she called after me.

Wow, I really need to get a car.
I began to walk towards the front entrance, the doors automatically sliding open.

I came closer to the door, staring at my hazy reflection in the clear glass.
I frowned at the piece of hair, sticking out at the top of my head.
I continued to walk obliviously.

Then bang.

My face met with the cold, hard surface of a solid pane of glass and I stumbled, trying to regain my balance.

The crowd of people inside the building erupted with laughter.
I cringed, the roar of shoppers voices filled my ears. I could feel my cheeks blushing a vivid red, my head was still throbbing.

A tall figure emerged from the crowd, followed by a small petite frame.
They ran towards me, grins plastered on their faces.

"That was priceless!" Katie exploded.

"Are you ok?" Daniel asked worriedly, still laughing.
I just nodded, still feeling everyone's eyes on me.

"Bow for these peasants" Katie ordered.

The three of us curtseyed graciously and I felt Damien's long arm loop through mine, Katie grabbed me and linked my arm, scooping a stray hair behind my ear.

"That was beautiful" Daniel said, with a chuckle.

-

The shop was crowded with people, I edged my way around the railings and delved further into the shop.

Katie followed closely behind me and I could hear Daniels loud dramatic groans over the bustle of the shop.

"Can we please get some food ladies" he asked.
