The next day sped by. I woke to see that Eva had disappeared, I hadn't been too worried.

I hadn't realised it would be the last time I saw her before school.

Sam had a basketball tournament, so I spent the day with my mom and Brian, we drove off to the country side and walked long unruly cliffs out near the ocean.

It was relaxing and I enjoyed their company.

I thrived in the fresh ocean breeze, my mind cleared and I forgot about everything for a while.

School, dance, Jack.

It all ended too quickly and we were driving home in the late afternoon listening to an old Oasis CD, Brian singing along to his favourite songs.

He was so funny and I loved the way he talked to me.

It felt like I had known him for ages.

He took my dreams about dance seriously and treated me like a adult.

It was refreshing to hear an adult who wasn't shooting me down and telling me that I couldn't do it, that my dreams were too far-fetched.

Brian was different.

We arrived home and Sam was already there, fast asleep in the living room.

"Sam, Sammy wake up" I whispered and shook him lightly.

He shifted in his sleep, his nose twitched.

"SAM" I yelled in his ear.

He jumped and I burst into laughter.

He sat up slowly and rubbed his eyes, stifling a yawn.

"C'mon were gonna have dinner" I said and he rose off the sofa and joined me in the kitchen.

Brian was chopping onions and mom was stirring pasta in a large pot.

Sam and I helped, setting the table for four and grating cheese.

In ten minutes we were all sitting at the table, chatting and eating macaroni cheese.

These were happy times, the ones I will always miss.

My phone lit up across the room.

I groaned.

I threw my body off my bed and slunk over to the other side of the room and picked up my phone.

That was the great thing about my tiny box bedroom, I could reach everything from my bed.

My screen lit up with different notifications.

I saw a text,

From an unknown number.

'Can you come to the park? I want to see you'

It was Jack. My heart had a tiny seizure inside of me.

I checked the time, it was half ten.

I texted him back quickly.

'Is it not a bit late?'

He replied in seconds.

'Sneak out'

I sighed, reading his message a few times in my mind.

I pulled the curtains open, peeking my head outside the window.
