I sighed with relief, I could almost kiss the smooth tarmac as we rumbled onto it in the small motel's parking lot, the journey had taken place mostly on roads potholed and made bumpy from rocks, causing my ass to hurt quite considerably.
Can't our school's budget go towards better suspension on the buses?
Coaches whistle shrieked again and all eyes focused on him as he stood in the middle of the centre aisle to address us all. "Listen up! The meet has been pushed to tomorrow, this is the closest motel with the most vacancies and least amount of good judgement when it comes to accepting a bunch of degenerates like yourselves."
"How is he a teacher!?" I whispered to Stiles.
"You'll be pairing up, choose wisely." Coach finished.
As I looked around for a partner, I felt a looming feeling of dread. Scott and Stiles had paired off and had headed to their room, as had Boyd and Isaac and most of the boys. Allison and Lydia gave a subtle wink to someone behind me as they collected their key and walked off. I grimaced and turned around to see the one other person left. Annabeth looked around innocently, but her mouth curled up at the ends into a devious smile.
Coach shrugged and tossed Annabeth the key before telling us to get some rest.
"Coach! We can't be a pair!" I complained.
"What because you're a boy and she's a girl? Christ, it's the 21st century, you're fine, now go get some rest." Coach shrugged, turning to head to his room.
"But Coach, what if we, you know... " I explained, desperate to be separated.
Coach grinned. "Then thank me in the morning." He chuckled, walking away and ignoring my shouts.
"How!? How is he a teacher!?" I stormed off to Stiles and Scott's room, stomping like a child. I knocked on the door and waited with crossed arms. Stiles opened the door and furrowed his brows at my expression.
"What's up with you?" He asked as he let me in. The room was incredibly boring, beige walls, cream lamps, green sheets on the bed, it was a room designed to be acceptable to the most amount of people possible.
"I'm being forced to partner with Annabeth!"
Scott and Stiles looked at me blankly. "Dude, are you from the victorian ages or something? Is seeing her in her bed clothes going to rile thee into besmirching your commitments to your mistress?" Stiles mocked in an over the top 1800's middle class english accent.
"It's just one night, dude, and before you ask, no, you can't stay in here," Scott rolled his eyes at me and sunk onto his bed, staring up at the ceiling. "More importantly, we need to talk suspects."
"I have three." Stiles said casually.
"Three!? You have three suspects! Woah..." Scott and I looked at him in shock and a little bit of admiration.
"Well, it was ten originally, technically nine, I had Derek on there twice."
"So who's number one? Harris? He's supposed to be missing right?" I asked, sitting on Scott's bed.
"Yup, but just because he's missing doesn't mean he's dead." Stiles confirmed.
"So if he isn't dead, our chemistry teacher is secretly committing human sacrifices..." Scott grimaced.
"And somehow, that isn't the weirdest thing to happen to us." I joked.
"What if it's someone else from school? Remember Matt!? We didn't know he was killing people." Scott sat up.
