For a night in the middle of September, the air was quite cool. Although it's way past midnight, and I do have work in the morning, I'm not at all tired. Maybe it's because I was raised as a hunter where more than 3 hours sleep will get you killed or maybe it's the fact that I've been hearing incoherent whispers in my head recently which is low key driving me insane.

I can't be sure of what reason is...well, the reason. What I can be sure of is that a knock at my door at 2am is not appreciated.

The girl beside me in our shared bed stirs, her curly red hair a mess as I have been playing with it. The door is knocked at again, causing the girl beside me to open her blue-green eyes hazily.

"Mia? Who is that?" She asks, sleep still evident in her voice.

"Don't worry Katie, I'll handle it. You just go back to sleep." I kiss her head and slip out of bed.

Goosebumps dot my exposed skin as I open the door, baseball bat in hand. I don't care if murder is illegal, interrupting someone at 2am, awake or not is not called for.

"Well, Sam I owe you ten bucks." Says a familiar, annoyingly smug voice.

I glare at the owner of the comment before slipping myself out of my house completely. "What are you talking about? Why are you here?" I ask my annoying older brother.

"Well, Sam thought that a 2am wake up call would have you coming out with a bat..." He motions to the heavy piece of wood in my hand. "And I had my money on a shotgun."

"Why would I have a shot gun? I gave up hunting five years ago, Dean."

"No, you just gave up travel. You have this town so clean of monsters it's as if they don't exist."

I glare at him. "Dean, I have a job now. A damn good one at that. Now what do you want?"

There's a long and tense silence that follows.
"So... you were the one that brought dean back?"

"Back? Back from where?" My eyes held fury at my older brothers. They were keeping something from me. And I'll be damned if I let that slide.

We were all sat in my living room now, voices hushed as to not wake up Katie. Now in jeans and a loose t-shirt, I'm pacing, trying to wrap my head around the past five years I've been gone.

"So let me get this straight. Sam gave up his chance at a normal life to find our dead-beat dad, he gets killed, you find out that Sam and I were fed demon blood as babies which for some reason didn't affect me -which I'm pissed you didn't tell me about by the way- Sam died, you made a deal, went to hell and now you're back. And you think that me, the sister BOTH of you have ignored for the past five years so I knew nothing about nothing had something to do with it?"

"Yeah. That just about sums it up." Dean nods with a sigh. It takes all the strength I have not to hit him over the head with my bat for the fun of it.

"Mia, we didn't talk to you because you left kind of... abruptly." I glare at my twin.

"Sam, I love you -I really do- but one, putting all of this on me at 3am is not cool and two, you're the one who told me to leave."

Dean glances at his younger brother accusingly, as if this was news to him.

"I have problems of my own. I have a life of my own. I'm not going to drop everything and leave because my dumb ass brothers are being dumbasses!" I yell, realising too late that I was too loud when Katie comes shuffling out of our room in her short shorts and tight tank top. Dean glances at her with a smirk, Sam with confusion and I just glare at the boys silently.

After a moment I sigh and turn to Katie. "Katie, these are my brothers. Dumbass Dean and Stupid Sam." I say nodding to the boys respectively. "And here I was thinking I'd never get to meet them." She says with a tired smile. "Yeah, well if I had it my way you wouldn't have." I mutter, running a hand through my untamed brown hair.

"Why are they here? Now?" She asks as she shuffles to wrap her arms around me. Before she can, I grab her hands and hold them to the side between us. "It's uh... family trouble. Boys being idiots as usual."

"Mia, they spoke about you." Sam says, causing my blood to run cold. I don't know who they are but if my brothers are here... it's bad.

"Katie, go back to bed. I'll be there soon." Is all I say before I turn my attention back to my annoying ass brothers.
