Two new born babies lay calmly in the same crib, side by side. The only thing differentiating the two being the colours in which they wear. Pink for the youngest. The sister. And blue for the brother. The middle child. The oldest sibling, a brother, stands by the crib, gripping on the wooden groves as if it were prison bars.

"Time for bed Dean, come on." The voice of an oddly familiar and happy father says, guiding the older sibling out of the room.
The door clicks shut and the brief sound of ruffling can be heard before silence occurs once more.

"Sam and Dean know the fate of Sam, but they were never told what happened to you." I hear a voice say. I look down, realising that I'm overlooking this as a person, not as a memory. And.... there is someone else standing in the corner of my childhood nursery.

I shake my head and look back at my baby self. "What do you mean?" I say quickly, trying to defend myself from what I know I can't defend. "You're not human, Mia. You haven't been since you were as young as the baby that lays before you." The angel says, stepping into the light to reveal the familiar trench coat and scruffy hair.

"This night is the night that you became much more than a human. Heaven has big plans for you too, not just your brothers. You just need to make sure you stay on Heaven's path."

I wake up gasping in the back of the impala, both brothers look at me expectantly as if I'm magically going to pull answers out of my ass.

Sam, from why I woke up so panicked and Dean.... I'm assuming because I sautéd the monster that was going to kill him, about how I did it and if I knew I could. But I wasn't lying when I said I wouldn't tell Dean. Or Sam because knowing his loyalty, he'd tell Dean. Even if I asked him not to.

"Dean, stop the car." I say as I sit up, brushing off my shirt.

"Excuse me, what?" He says, not stopping even though that's exactly the opposite of what he was asked.

"I need some time... alone. You two work the case in Pennsylvania, and I'll hitch a ride back home. You can meet me after the case is done." I say, ready to just jump out of the moving vehicle if he doesn't stop soon.

"What- no." Dean sighs. "Mia, you don't have a home anymore. That place is a crime scene, you were fired from your job for not showing up. Do you really wanna show your face there again?"

"Maybe I do. Maybe it'll be better than you looking at me like I'm a bomb that's about to explode, Dean." I scoff and look out the window. "Maybe I am. Maybe I should just go before I accidentally turn one of you to a pile of ash as well." I can feel both my brothers stiffen at the mention of my powers and my heart breaks a little more than it already was. I shake my head. "I thought of all people, you'd understand Sam." I say and simply jump out of the speeding car and go tumbling to the side of the road before either one can protest. Sure, it hurt and sure I probably have road rash but after what dream Castiel just told me, I can't stay with them.

"Mia, get back in the car." I hear Dean yell, obviously having stopped the car to chase after me and yell at me as if he was Dad.

Dad... he was so much calmer in my dream... my head is spinning, my emotions overwhelming me for a second too long as I feel Dean grab my hand. I simply spin my body to punch him in the face and then use the leverage to kick him away. "Don't touch me." I say, my voice and whole body for that matter shaking. "See? I've already hurt you." I say, shaking my head. "You never should have come for me in the first place. I- I need to get away." I find myself saying and just like that, I am away. Far away. In a dusty old cabin, somewhere that, according to the lack of bars on my phone, has no signal.

"Castiel!" I find myself calling out, with no other person to go to. Or place for that matter. If I walked into these woods alone, I'd get lost.

Accepting, after a couple more tries, that he wouldn't come I slump against the couch that must be as old as time when I hear his voice. "You called." He says simply, standing by the door. "Make this quick, heaven needs me."

"You came to me, earlier, in the car. My dream. It's true, isn't it? I'm not human?"

He simply nods.

"But how? Both my parents were human. Dean and Sam, they're human."

"Sam..." He interrupts, with sounds of annoyance, possibly even hatred. "Is an abomination. That we have been ordered to kill him if Dean cannot control him." I'm about to defend my twin when he literally shuts me up. "So are you, for that matter. The only difference between you two is that Heaven -for whatever reason- has ordered us not to kill you, but rather to protect you. Do you think the lack of demon activity in your town for five years was all because of your spells?" He tilts his head. "No. It was because us angels had to devote our limited time into protecting the precious Mia Winchester." He lets go of his hold on my voice, and I immediately use it.

"What are you talking about? Why? What am I?"

"You, Mia, are the first and only artificial nephelim. And, the only nephelim to ever live that was not sought to be destroyed by heaven."
