"I just wanna make sure that if push comes, you'll shove." Dean says to Sam as we're driving. This pisses me off. Not only cause he's assuming that Sam won't but indirectly that I will. I know it's petty, and I know it's stupid but I'm kinda siding with Sam on this one.
"Meaning?" Sam says simply, glancing in the mirror at the anger in my eyes. He shifts slightly, knowing that if both he and dean don't choose their words carefully that their pint-sized little sister will be getting involved.
"Chances are, we're gonna have to burn this man alive." Dean says and Sam tenses up more. There it was. Dean just stepped on a land mine.
"This man has a name, Dean. And a damn wife." I speak up from the back, my words coated with venomous annoyance.
"Which we will probably make a widow." Dean says, stepping on yet another land mine. My fists clench, Sam notices. "You heard Travis, he's gonna turn." I'm about to go off at him but Sam joins in, trying to calm me but making sure I'm not the one that has to rebuttal. "Maybe he won't, maybe he can fight it off." Sam tries to negotiate but Dean doesn't seem to be having any of it. "And maybe he can't, that's all I'm saying."
"Saying it in a douchy way." I mumble which thankfully goes unheard.
"We'll just have to see." Sam says, attempting to shut it down but Dean keeps pushing.
"This is what I mean, Sam. You sure your emotions aren't getting in the way here? Heck, you too Mia."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" I say while Sam, at the same time, says "what are you talking about?"
"You know, the whole, nice dude but evil blood. Maybe you can relate."
Just about ready to murder Dean, I unclip my seatbelt. Sam, having the same idea as me tells dean to stop the car. When he doesn't stop I lean over into the front seat. From the position I was in I'd go flying through the windscreen if he slammed his foot on the break. "Stop the damn car before I make you, Dean." I growl.
As soon as we're out of the car I'm ready to punch him but Sam is pulling me back. Despite the fact that he too is pissed, he doesn't want it to get physical...yet.
"This is why I've been keeping secrets from you Dean. Because you treat me like a freak! You treat Mia like she's a freak and she doesn't even have powers!" Sam says and I tense slightly, hoping that neither of them noticed.
"That we know of." Dean comments to which I glare at him. Sam just continues with his rant. "You look at me like I'm a freak! Worse, an idiot. Like I don't know right from wrong."
"Do you?"
Sam starts pacing, I stay grounded. If I move it will only be to dean to punch his face.
"You have no idea what I'm going through."
I kinda do but you're not gonna find out... I think to myself as I watch the scene unfold.
"Enlighten me." Dean says with a sigh.
"I've got demon blood in me, Dean! This disease pumping through my veins, and I can't ever rip it out or scrub it clean! I'm a whole new level of freak! And I'm just trying to take this - this curse... and make something good out of it. Because I have to."
This seems to have shut dean up for the time being. "Let's just go talk to this guy-" he looks at both of us look at him and scoff "-I mean Jack."
Sam gives a small nod and walks back to the car. I walk up to him, slapping his face and holding my hands out for the keys. "I'm driving." Is all I say, no explanation as to why I hit him. He probably thinks I'm crazy. Heck, I think I am sometimes too. But Dean deserved that slap. Heck, he deserved more.
