Tyler's P.O.V
As I dodged another tree, I finally saw the lake. I'd been running for hours now and my wolf was tired. After seeing Tessa, I went back home and completely trashed my office. I felt like a fool for thinking things would be easy. I couldn't understand why she wanted to end things when we had barely began. It really broke my heart to see that she didn't trust me.
I looked at my refection on the water. My pitch black wolf was starting back at me. I didn't know what to do next. My thoughts were all over the place. I wanted to give her time but I didn't know if time would play in my favor. She didn't know how important she was to me. The pain of a heartbreak is soul crushing for a human. But it's one hundred times worse as a werewolf. She's my soulmate. The other half of my fucking soul. I can't live without her.
As I sat by the lake, an idea came to me. It's risky but I had to take that chance. Tessa will never understand me nor accept me if she doesn't know what I am. I can understand why she doesn't trust me right away. But maybe if I explain to her what I am, she'll understand.
"Or she'll reject us." Kai said.
"We'll never know unless we try." I replied. We stayed silent until he spoke again.
"So how are we going to do this?"he queried.
"We're gonna need Tailah."
"Okay, but why?"
"Because she's also a wolf if you forgot and her best friend doesn't know that."
"I'm following."
There is only two ways that this can go. Either she thinks of me as a monster forever or she sees me as her mate and accepts me as such.
Tailah's P.O.V
After comforting Tessa for maybe an hour, she fell asleep. I understand why she got worried. She couldn't comprehend what was happening to her and her mom's comment made it worse. I've heard of humans going into heat. It's not the same as it is for shewolves. We have it for the whole week of the full moon until we mate with our soulmate. But humans only have it during the full moon. They will keep having it until they fully mate.
I feel terrible for Tyler. I don't know how I would feel if Jaden wanted nothing to do with me. A smile began to spread across my face as I though of him. The Moon Goddess had truly blessed me with such a kindhearted mate.
As I put the empty bowls in the sink and threw away the empty bags of chips, I heard my phone ring. I went to the living room, where my phone was. Picking it up, I noticed it was an unknown number but decided to answer anyway.
"Hello"
"Tailah, it's Tyler."
"Oh hey ummm... Tessa's sleeping. In case you were trying to join her."
"Is she okay?" he worried.
"She stopped crying. Did you need me to tell her something for you?"
"Well actually, I wanted to talk to you?"
"Umm what about"
"I need your help with Tessa. Can you come to the pack house?"
"I'll be there in twenty minutes."
"Should I send you the location?"
"I've been there before so it's fine."
"Really, how come y...oh Jaden."
