Chapter 23: Madisen

Tessa's P.O.V  

I groaned in frustration while snapping my finger back in place. 

"Control your anger Tessa. It's completely normal that you find trouble shifting." Tyler said behind me.

I was on the verge of crying. What the fuck! Why am I crying? What's wrong with me? It's like all my emotions keep turning on and off whenever they please. This was suppose to help me learn how to concentrate in order to contact my wolf. 

"Baby, look at me." Tyler said while cupping my cheeks in his hands.

"You're doing great. Don't get discouraged. You're a true fighter because you were able to survive my bite even though your body was very weak. Now suck in those tears and focus." he said and I nodded my head in a agreement. 

"Let's try this again." he said and I sat down on the grass.

"You have to be in harmony with all your senses and emotions. Don't let them have the best of you. You are in control."

I did as I was told and my body began to relax. It so was peaceful.

"Now call out to her."

"Hey wolfie." I said and he let out a chuckle.

"Wolfie? Girl really?" a voice in my head said and my eyes shot open.

Tyler was looking at me with wide eyes and a slow grin was forming on his lips.

"Who are you?" I mentally asked and heard a scoff. 

"You've been trying to reach me all morning and you don't know who I am." 

"You're my wolf?"

"Duh! Can I go back to sleep now y'all got nothing better to do at three in the morning."

"She's feisty." I heard a third voice and looked at Tyler.

"That was Kai." he said and I laughed slightly. 

"I'm Tracy by the way."

"Nice to meet you Tracy."

"You too Tessa. Get used to having me around from now on." she said and I chuckled.

"When can we shift?" I asked excitedly.

"I'm not really sure. Since I'm a new wolf I'm still pretty weak but I'm sure that by the end of the day we'll be ready for a run." she said and I smiled at that.

     I really liked my wolf. She was a little bit like me, just feistier and way more straight forward. It was like having a sister but that was a wolf and knew everything about you since she lived in your head. 

I was pulled out of my thoughts by Tyler's voice.

"Tessa. We should get you back home. We have school in literally four hours."

"Can I sleep at your place?" I asked.

"Sure, we could pick up some clothes for you along with your bag." he replied and I smiled.

    I loved spending time with Tyler. He saved my life by doing something that he knew was risky, but he still saved me. I'd ruined our Christmas vacation by cheating death and now all I want is to spend as much time with him as possible. 

     Since the next morning after my transition, I've felt the most powerful pull towards that guy. I feel bad for the time when I'd told him to stay away from me. He says that the way I feel for him is nowhere close to the way he feels. I find that almost impossible to believe but since he's an alpha that's understandable. I now had a better understanding of mates and also why Tailah and Jaden are always together. The mate bond makes it feel impossible for any wolf to stay away from their mate for too long.

    After taking a few stuff from my house. We were back at the pack house. This place had become my second home in a matter of months. Tyler had even given me the top drawer. What's best was being able to see Tailah everyday. I remember being so shook when she came to New York. Since we're soul sisters, she was able to feel my pain almost as much as Tyler could. I don't remember ever seeing her cry this much. I understand better now the way she felt. I didn't view her as my best friend anymore, she truly was my sister. 

"Tess, you in there?" I saw Tyler's hand waving in front of my face.

"Yea. Sorry."

"What were you thinking about?"

He handed me one of his white shirts and I gladly took it.

"Just everything that's happened. My life just changed so much, but the change is good. There are so many things that I understand now that I didn't get before and it's just crazy." he hummed at my answer and got in bed while I did the same.

He secured me in his arms and I laid my head against his chest. The sparks tickled my face and I felt a tear leave my eye. I felt him stiffen before he sat up.

"What's wrong baby?" he asked and I began to sob.

He held me against his chest I began to calm down. That damn bond.

"I'm sorry. It's just that I wish I'd been as close with my dad as I am with you and Tailah. We ummm... we were really close him and I. He was like my super hero and my best friend too. B-But I just wish my bond with him was as strong as it is with us." I managed to say.

   He stayed silent as I crying against him. I was really close with my father. My mother is amazing too and I love her with all my heart but the relationship I had with dad was like no other. He was the best and it hurts to think that he'll never get to see me graduate or walk me down the aisle. So many things that I wish he could see, but that won't happen.

   I few more minutes went by before I composed myself and stopped crying.

"I know exactly how you feel." he said and I let out a laugh.

"How? How could you possibly know how I feel." I said, getting slightly angry.

I automatically regretted my tone when his facial features showed hurt.

"I had a friend. Her name was Madisen. She was the daughter of the alpha of a neighboring pack. Our families were very close and we were really close friends. So much so that everyone thought we mates. But she was different." he paused to look at me.

"She was born human." he finally said and I looked at him a bit confused.

"Her parents were both werewolves but she was born human. Even though her parents still loved her dearly, she felt like a burden to them and also very weak. So when she turned sixteen, she told her family that her only wish was to become a werewolf just like the rest of us. Her father was totally against it. But her mom just wanted her daughter to be happy, so she called me. Since me and her were very close she begged me to turn her, and since her mother was okay with that... I did it." 

He took a break and that's when I noticed how teary his eyes were. It truly hurt me to him like this.

"It's okay." I said while rubbing his back but he shuddered and pushed me away.

"It's not, it's not okay. I knew some of the risks but did it anyway." he took a small break and stood up from the bed while running his hands through his hair.

"The bit killed her. I killed her."
