As I opened the blinds, I heard Jaden curse under his breath.

"Be ready in 30 minutes, we have to go to the Blood Moon Pack." I said as I made my way to his door.

"Are you talking about the pack with that alpha who wanted you to marry his daughter?" he queried as he lazily got out of bed.

"Exactly."

After waking up Ethan, I went downstairs into the kitchen and found my mother and a few pack members preparing breakfast.

"Morning mother." I said as I placed a kiss on her cheek.

"Hi darling. Are you staying for breakfast?"

"No actually. Jaden, Ethan, and I have to go see Alpha Indrix."

"Why, what's going on?" she worried.

"You should focus on not burning those sausages mom."

"Absolutely not. Martha could you take care of this please?" she asked one of the girls that worked in the house.

"Come here." she said, directing me to the living room.

"Tell me everything."

"There's a pack about three hours away from here. They had been targets of rouge attacks multiple times. To solve the problem, Alpha Indrix had proposed to merge our packs through marriage..."

"Wait so you were suppose to marry his daughter, correct?" she asked and I nodded.

"So what's changed now?" she wondered, sending me a knowing smirk.

I took a deep breath before answering.

"I met my mate. But when I accepted the deal it's not like I didn't know I had a mate somewhere out there. All I could think of was saving the lives of all these people. I'm still willing to offer my help. But I won't be marrying anyone other than my mate."

My mom caressed my cheek as she smiled at me.

"You have become a true leader. Tessa is lucky to have you as her mate." she said and I furrowed my brows in surprise. How did she know?

"What, you didn't think I noticed the way you were looking at her when she came over? Come on kid, I might be old but not blind." she joked, making me chuckle.

"But she's human right?"

"Yeah, she is."

"How are you gonna handle that?"

"I have already accepted her the way she is. I'm planning on telling her soon. I would be a fool to push away the one destined for me." I said and notice the smile that formed on her lips.

"I just hope Alpha Indrix understands."

"Yeah me too."

I meant every word that I said. Petra, Alpha Indrix's daughter, was a year or two older than me. She had met her mate on her eighteenth birthday, but unfortunately, he was killed a week later during one of the rouge attacks that year.

I can't even began to imagine what she probably went through. The only way for her to take over the pack is by marrying a powerful alpha who will be able to keep her pack safe.

After we all finished our breakfast it was time to hit the road. As we drove to the Blood Mood Pack, I wondered how this whole thing would go. I really hope Alpha Indrix will be able to understand the situation and not take it as an act of disrespect towards him or his daughter.
