Richie's POV
Eddie and I end up walking to the cafe since it's just around the block. "I need to stop at the corner store."
"Oh don't you work there?" Eddie links arms with me and smiles.
"Yeah did bevvie tell you that?" I smile.
"Yeah." Eddie looks ahead.
"Someone's clingy." I smirk, referring to our linked arms.
"Oh shush." Eddie rolls his eyes playfully and let's go of my arm.
"Don't get pissy on me now Eds." I push him lightly.
"What did I say about calling me Eds?" Eddie raises an eyebrow.
"But it's a cute nickname for a cute boy!" I say giving him a little side hug. I see Eddie blush lightly as we continue to walk to the corner store.
I walk in and check who's running the front. "Hey homeschool." I smile at mike who has his feet up on the counter and he's reading a book.
"Hey Rich." He gives me a small smile and than looks at Eddie "I see you took care of him."
"Yeah..." eddie smiles and then looks up at me.
"Nurse eddie." I wrap my arms around him, "I like the sound of that."
"Oh shush." Eddie pushes me away playfully but I hold him tightly.
"So what would you love birds like?" Mike says sitting up and resting his head in his hand.
"I need a pack of cigarettes, get me a pack why don't you homeschool." I say as I pull out some money. Mike turns around and grabs a pack for me and sets them on the counter.
"Need anything Eds?" I smile down at him.
He shacks his head and looks back at mike.
I hand mike the money and I slide the pack of cigarettes off the counter and into my pocket.
"Have a nice day, and don't do anything dumb together." Mike winks.
I smirks and puts an arm around Eddie's shoulder as we walk out the door "Bye homeschool!"
Eddie's Pov
After Richie and I got coffee we decided to walk down to the Quarry. It's extremely cold down there and I didn't really wanna go because I don't wanna catch a cold but Richie insisted.
Richie lights a cigarette and puts it up to his lips. I watch as he inhales the smoke and I gulp.
"Sorry, I know you don't smoke and stuff..." he smiles lightly.
"Oh it's ok." I say and a weak smile.
I remember my mother telling me when I was younger that if I came to close to someone who was smoking it would trigger my asthma and I would have an asthma attack.
So when I passed by strangers who smoked I held my breath. Not daring to let go under any circumstance. I still did that most of the time, until I met Richie.
He always smelled my smoke. I slowly fell in love with the smell. Like a strange addiction. Ever time I was around someone smoking on the streets I didn't think of what my mother told me, but I thought about Richie.
I don't know why I'm nervous right now. Addicts kill. This will either kill me or Richie.
I start playing with my hands as my stress gets worse as I watch the smoke come out of him mouth.
My gaze starts to move to his lips instead of the smoke.
His lips are full and a little chapped but most peoples are at this time of year.
He's gorgeous.
I wish I could say that with out him making a joke. I wish I could say a lot without him making a joke.
Richie yawns and pushes his arm around my waist pulling me closer, "I don't have much boundaries Eds, you could sit on top of me and I wouldn't care." He snickers.
Eds.
When we first met I hated it but never wanted to tell him that. I wanted him to like me. But just like the smell of cigarette smoke I've learned to oddly like that nickname.
It made me feel special to Richie. There were millions of eddies in the world but I was Eds. Richie's Eds.
I have realized that he does call all of his friends oddly funny nicknames.
Haystack, homeschool, Stan the man, Big Bill and Bevie.
We were special to him.
He was very special to me.
I brush and nuzzle by body up next to him using his body heat for warmth.
"We can go back to my place...you're lips are turning blue." He laughs lightly as he pecks my cheek.
"Can we please go." I whisper. He takes my hand and stands up. We walk down the path and then down the street.
I sit on his bed with a blanket wrapped around me and a cup of hot chocolate in my hand.
"Does the corner store pay good?" I ask as he looks for a CD to play.
"It pays ok..." he says as he lays down "but I mean it's enough to get myself what I need."
"What? You mean cigarettes and alcohol?" I tease. He just snickers.
He puts on a Psychedelic Furs CD and sits down on the bed. I put down the hot chocolate and turn so we're both sitting cross legged across from each other. He smiles and cups my face with one of his hands, I smile and lean in putting my hand on his knee.
Love my way starts to play in the background, perfect, I think to myself.
Our lips connect and it starts off small and sweet. He depends the kiss like he always does, but this time I don't pull away. This time I kiss back more passionately. I can tell Richie a bit surprised but he continues to kiss me passionately.
I hesitate for a second but then I move my hand down this thigh. He smiles into the kiss "whatcha doing there Kaspbrak?" He mumbles.
"Just shut up..." I mumble back and I run my other hand threw his curls.
He pulls me closer and we continue to kiss...well make out.
