Richie's POV-

The next day at school I can't help but dread on the topic of asking Eddie out.

The day goes by fast and before I know it it's last period.

We sit in room #12 listening to the teacher go on and on about some topic. I sit in my desk anxiously glancing at the clock every so often.

Bev keeps looking at me and smirking.

I then realize that the bells going to ring in about five minutes and that's when my anxiety really kicks in.

Then I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn my head to see Beverly.

"What do you want?" I whisper.

"Are you ready?" She says in a teasing manner pointing to Eddie who is sitting beside me.

"Shut up or I won't do it!" I say.

"You have to Richie! Don't be a little bitch and confess your feelings!" She says. I roll my eyes and look back up at the clock. Four minutes that eventually turns into three.

I can feel my palms begin to get sweaty and a little shaky. Two minutes.

I then shack Bev's arm.

"What's wrong?" She ask.

"What do you think!" I say.

"Calm your shit,Tozier. It's gonna be fine." She says calmly.

"What if he says no!" I frown.

"He wouldn't!" She says firmly. "Now stop worrying all the damn time."

I look up at the clock. Thirty seconds...

I take a deep breath then exhale out of my mouth. Just like in therapy. I think to myself.

Then the bell rings and my insides flip.

Everyone get up and starts to head for the door.

I turn to Bev and she smiles and gives me a thumbs up.

I sigh and follow Eddie out the door.

I follow him through the crowd of teens down the hall and to his locker.

I watch as he opens it and grabs his things.

"Hey,Eds..." I say trying to sound a little confident.

He looks up at me and smiles, "Hey,Rich. What's up?"

"Oh,nothing just..." I begin. I then see out of the corner of my eye Beverly standing there with a big smile on her face.

"Eddie I was wondering. If you would want to go and hang out somewhere, like just the two of us..." I try to say with out sounding weird.

"Like a date?" He asks. I can feel myself blush.

"Well,I wouldn't call it a date...but it's kind of like it-" I say but am cut off.

"Sure. When?" He asks with a smile.

I didn't even really think of that.

"Um...well,when are you free?" I ask.

"How about Friday?" He ask. I nod.

"Sounds good. I'll pick you up and we can go to the diner." I say with a smile.

    He blushes and smiles back.

"Ok,it's a date." He closes his locker and walks away.

I turn around and look at Bev and smile.
