"Lexie?"

"Yes, Aaron?" I replied as I turned to look at the little boy beside me, who was looking out of a window longingly.

"Do you think we'll get out of here?"

I paused for a moment to think. "Mhm! And when we do, we'll always be together!"

He turned to look at me, with gleaming hopeful eyes, "Really?"

I nodded enthusiastically, letting a grin slide onto my face, "Of course!"

Clip 2.

"I don't know, I'm starting to think we'll never get out of here at this rate," one of the kid boys said, not at all encouraging.

"Yeah, we might as well be here for the rest of our lives," a girl added on, and a lot of the kids started to agree with the thought.

"C'mon guys, we can't give up now! Don't you want to explore the world! Why are you giving in so easily?!" I shouted, in total frustration. Are they seriously that weak-willed?

"We want to see the outside world as much as you do," a girl said quietly, others nodded.

"I-it's just that, it might j-just be a d-dream that i-isn't reachable," another boy spoke shyly, making me go silent. "A dream so.. so h-high up, t-that it's f-far b-beyond our r-reach."

"In the end, it's just a dream," a boy with a heck of a lot of balls dawned the truth on a silver platter. "Dreams aren't reality. Reality aren't dreams. Dreams can't make reality. Reality is much more complicated than you might think," the ballsy boy continued to preach his wake-up call. "As much as you might want to get out of here, you just can't. Face it, we're only kids. No one's even bothered to come save us. And as long as those monsters have us captive, and under tight supervision, there's not a single thing on earth that we can do."

As the children's murmurs spread throughout the crowd, I looked to my right to see Aaron looking down with a sad and longing look. It pained me to see him like this. Why is this happening? Don't we have a right to freedom? I wanted to make this right. No, I had to, I thought as I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists tightly.

Clip 3.

"And as for the final test, the one you've all been waiting for... completion will result in your freedom. What will you have to do, you ask? Well, let me tell you. It's very simple, really," the male voice stopped for a short pause to create suspense before resuming. "You will fight to the death. Yes, you will have a deathmatch, and if you want your freedom, all you have to do is be the last one standing."

I stood, my face turning deathly pale, I felt like I was getting choked. The words I wanted to speak wouldn't come out. They were stuck in the middle of my throat, and I felt like coughing. My hands were shaking. My body was trembling. I was going to be sick.

I dared myself to spare a glance at Aaron, and I immediately regretted it. He looked like he was way worse off. He looked like someone had just ripped his heart out. I saw a lone tear slide down his left eye.

All of us heard the sound of something being smashed into the wall. As we dreadfully turned our heads, we looked to see the boy who only saw reality, smashing a fellow child's face into the brick wall.

My eyes widened in horror as I looked at the poor child. He was longer with us. Then, my eyes somehow made their way up to the kid who did it, the boy who preached the wake-up speech not too long ago. His eyes were void of emotion, almost like he didn't want to do it. Like he was silently saying sorry. Like he wished they could've been friends. If only we'd lived a normal life... who am I kidding? It's like he said, in the end, they're just dreams. Silly, worthless dreams. Even I knew that.

That was it for us. The fatal blow. We completely lost it after that. And then...

...all hell broke loose.

I suddenly shot up and sat up on my bed, breathing heavily as my face was sweating.

"W... what the fuck?" I voiced out, before getting on my feet and staggering down the stairs quickly. "I need a breather."

The thought made me walk faster and faster as I speedily filled myself a glass of water and gulped it down. Then I opened the front door, and locked it shut before walking in a completely random direction. I didn't know where I was going. I didn't care where I was going. All I wanted was to breathe in fresh air.

Eventually, I found a park. Since it was currently the middle of the night, it was unoccupied. I sat down on a brown wooden bench in the empty park.

It was silent. The only noise I could hear was the occasional whistles of the wind. I closed my eyes and relaxed as my long, brown locks fluttered in tune with the wind.

'Okay, that feels so much better,' I thought, completely calm now, before I let out a long sigh. When I opened my eyes, I could've sworn I saw a human standing right in front of me.

I let out a scream as I got myself on high alert, and placed myself into a scared position on the bench. I blinked and looked around rapidly, but the person I thought I saw right in my face was nowhere to be found.

"Oh man," I said finally as I placed a hand on my fastly-beating heart. I was probably just hallucinating. Man, I really need some sleep.

"L.O.V.E."

In an instant, I was up on my feet, and swerved right around to see who was behind me. I made a face as I clutched my head. I must seriously be going crazy right now!

"Is.. someone there?" I asked calmly, cautiously looking around despite being scared to death twice in a row. If this keeps up I'll seriously go into cardiac arrest.

All of a sudden, I felt a hand caress my cheek. I froze as I slowly drifted my eyes toward my left. I was looking at a man with black hair and eyes, who was wearing black attire with a white robe. He looked pretty cool.

"Lilith..." I heard him whisper, officially creeping me out to the max.

"Uhh..." I muttered, not really knowing what to say to this strange man. "Sorry, I think you've got the wrong person..."

"Hm?" he turned his attention towards me as I felt self-conscious.

"My name isn't Lilith. It's Lexie," I corrected which made his eyes widen. He retracted his hand and took a step back.

"I see. Well," he simply said, and when I did so much as blink, he was no longer standing in front of me. He was gone. "I hope we'll meet again one day, Lexie."

His voice lingered in my mind as I just continued to stare straight ahead, with endless amounts of confusion at the moment. What in the hell was that?

"What a day," I complained as I carelessly plopped back onto the wooden bench. "It's way too late for this ridiculous shit."

After that, I kept quiet, just silently watching the trees and bushes matching the flow of the wind. Since I had nothing better to do.

When I felt like I was finally ready to go back, I stood up from the bench and stretched my arms while yawning. I had a few scares, but at least I got what I came here for in the first place. That's right, my lovely lovely dose of air. And with that, I decided I was going to go back to my house--

'Hold on,' I suddenly realised, my forehead slowly turning blue whilst my mouth twitched as I held an expression of utter disbelief, 'which direction is my apartment?'
