"You look like you're taking a shit." I burst out laughing only to have Virgil glare at me. Caz wasn't wrong though. He was way too tense. Of course, my issue was magic came to easily to me. "Roman..." I looked up at him and he sighed. "Maybe you would like to..."
"No." I laid back across the couch and Cassidy started to shake his head. Virgil frowned as he just stared at the floor defeatedly. "I'm not gonna help with that book."
"Roman..." I shot him this look and he just sighed giving up. That was until Virgil looked over at me and I frowned. "Forget it, Virgil. He's in the same boat anyway." Yeah. I am. I have no idea what the hell I am doing. What little control a managed to get is completely overshadowed by the lack of control when I'm emotional. WHICH IS ALL THE TIME! Control... I really do need to get a better grasp on it. Don't I? "Let's try this one, Virgil."
"How is this teaching me my magic? I summoned a wolf and shit... this is all elemental." My ears perked up and I looked over Virgil's shoulder with narrowed eyes. Cassidy just scratched the back of his neck awkwardly as I glared up at him. This book isn't meant for Virgil its meant for me... isn't it? "Roman?"
"Move over." I called as I lightly pushed Virgil. He quickly listened as I took the book from him. So far I've been practicing with no reference or help. I was just doing what I thought I should focus on. I started skimming through the book and I narrow my eyes at the more I read. I should've been practicing with this book instead. It was directed toward me, the Dragon Witch. It told the things I should focus on and the meaning behind things as well. My eyes caught on to this one spell for Hells Fire. It sounds small even considering the usage of Hell but it wasn't. It was very strong. So strong... it's classified as banned. Cassidy quickly turned the page back to the spell he had chosen and I looked up to see this soft smile.
"We're trying this one." I nodded and started to read what was said. He had chosen a water spell. I watched as he brought over a cup of water and I frowned. Did he really think... Almost instantly the water started to react. It was rippling and I saw Virgil stare at it in wonder. I don't really have a choice, do I? I need to practice. It's just... I don't want Virgil to... "Roman."
"Whatever." Virgil looked over at me with confusion and I frowned trying very hard not to look at him. I held my hand out towards the cup and closed my eyes. The premise of the spell is to shape the water. I had to imagine a shape and will the water to move. So that's what I did. I thought of a shape. Or at least I tried.
I ended up thinking of all the lives we've had so far. I thought of when Virgil was a werewolf. I thought of the Hanahaki disease that killed me. I thought of Prince Virgil and different he looked, but how similar he acted. I thought about the swords we fought with and the battle we fought in. I thought about the day I confessed and my anxiety shot through the roof.
I felt someone grabbed my arm and I looked over to see a very concerned Virgil. His grip tightened and I couldn't help but smile. He had to care about me. If he didn't he wouldn't look so worried. He told me he loved me. My heart started to race and all of a sudden the water burst from the cup. Virgil was in awe but I wasn't looking at what it was. I was to focus on the wonder in his eyes. Have I mentioned how much I love him?
My hand dropped to my knees and I could feel this spark of energy surrounding me. I wanted this to last forever. I wanted that light in his eyes to remain. I wanted him to look at me with the same awe and wonder. I just wanted him to be happy. I started to hear this craking and I turned to see the shaped water turning to ice. I quickly let go of Virgil and jumped away. Once again it was responding to what I wished without me having control. Virgil looked over at me with concern and I looked away.
"That was really good Roman..." I scoffed pulling a pillow in close and hugging it. Cassidy just smiled as he waved a hand over the frozen mess and I watched it turn back into water falling back into the cup.
"I thought we were teaching Virgil... not me." Caz groaned and I buried my head into the pillow I was holding. "Can we just forget..."
"Do it again." Virgil grabbed my hand and I looked over to see this bright smile on his face. "Please, Roman? I want to see..." I shook my head and he held my hand tighter. Don't do it, Roman. You could fail. You could hurt him. He could figure out the truth and then what? You shouldn't have come. You shouldn't have tried anything. You... "Roman, I loved it." My eyes went wide and he just smiled. "I love you..." My heart started to race again as the air started to rush around us softly. "I don't know. I understand... why you keep pushing me away. God knows I've done it to all of you but... Babe, I love you." He pulled my hand in close and closed his eyes. "Whatever those voices in your head are telling you... If they are saying anything about me... don't listen."
"Virgil..." He pulled me in resting my head against his chest and I smiled at the sound of his heartbeat.
"I'm sorry. I won't ever do that to you again. I love you, Roman. Now please... show me that beautiful magic of yours."
