Friends or more than

I woke up the next morning to find Lena still sleeping. I adjusted my glasses that I'm surprised were still on and watched Lena while she slept. Not in a creepy way, she just looked so peaceful. I took in every perfect detail. The way her hair was lead over her face, how her mouth held a small smile and how her breathing seemed so calm. I didn't know what was happening. Lena and I had always flirted with each other but in a friends kind of way. But I'd never felt like this with a girl. Every time I was around her my heart rate would speed up and I couldn't help myself from smiling.
"Good morning"
A soft voice woke me from my thoughts.
"God I love your accent. It's so cool."
She giggled. The sound made my stomach do somersaults.
"We should get up soon." I said slowly.
"I don't want to. Your bed is so comfortable."
"I know right."
"Five more minutes?"
"Five more minutes."
I laid back down and back into her arms. I may be the girl of steel but I felt most safe lying there with her. We were soon up, dressed and ready for work. I gave her a hug at the door.
"Thank you Kara."
"Anytime."
We shared one last hug before she headed to Lcorp. I quickly changed into my supergirl suit and flew to the DEO.
I landed on the balcony and walked through to find Alex.
"So what did you get up to last night after you saved Lena?" She laughed
"Lena actually stayed over. She was scared and I comforted her."
"You like her." She accused.
"What! No. I mean yeah. But only as a friend."
"It's been over 6 months since Mon-El. You're allowed to like other people."
"I don't like Lena! I mean I do. Just not in that way."
She gave me the look and I smiled.
"Fine. But it's different. The things I feel with her are so different to how I felt with Mon-El. Whenever I'm around her my heart races, I blush and smile like a dork. I get jealous when I see her with someone else and I have a huge urge to protect her at all cost. I want to fall asleep being held in her arms while she draws on my back and sings to me in Irish. I want to wake up every morning to her. I want her."
I looked down sadly.
"Hey. Kara. Look at me."
I looked up.
"You clearly love her. Tell her."
"I can't. Not while she has no idea that I'm supergirl. I just have to bide my time."
"Well you know you can always count on me right. No matter what."
"Always. Love you Alex."
"Love you to Kara."
She hugged me and walked away. The crime rate had dropped and there wasn't much left to do. I flew over to Lcorp to see if Lena was okay. I dropped gently onto her balcony and sat watching her every move. I smiled and knocked on the balcony door. She turned but when she saw me a smile broke out on her face.
"Supergirl." She said happily.
"Miss Luthor, I thought I would check in and see how you were after yesterday."
"Im okay. I was a little worried so I spent the night at Kara's house."
"Well I'm glad you're okay."
"Thank you by the way. For everything you've done for me. I don't think I can say it enough. "
"Always."
I gave her a quick hug before flying into the sky. I was always peaceful up there. The way my body felt weightless and my mind clear. A sudden scream ran through my head, one I recognized instantly.
