Unravel. (DMC Nero x male OC)[completed]

7.

8th September, 12 am:

"Come back to me", Nero says as he reaches out his hand.

"I'll protect you."

Jason flies over to the male and eyes the hand curiously.
Then he reaches out to touch the hand and intervene his fingers with Nero's.

By doing so Jason's horns disappear and he carefully lands on his feet again.
Even his red eye stops to glow.

As Jason's feet touch the ground he falls into Nero's arms out of exhaustion.
Nero pats the tired male's head. "You did good", He says sending a satisfied smile onto Jason's lips.
Nero picks him up bridal style and carries him back to the van where Nico waits.
"What the hell happened", She calls out as she sees the two males.

"A small incident but it'll be fine."
Nico nods and sits back down onto the driver's seat.
"Your orders", She asks Nero who lays Jason down onto the couch.
"Take us home."

With that Nico hits the gas pedal and speeds back to Fortuna.
Absolutely no progress has been won today, only the knowledge of Jason's power if he unleashes it.
This only leaves more questions in Nero head giving him a headache.

Nero sits down next to Nico into the passenger's seat and sighs. "Spit it out, cowboy."
"What?"
"You're not sighing for no reason. Come on, spill."
The male takes a lighter to light Nico's cigarette before narrating the story.
Nico hums as he finishes.

"Seriously", Nero groans. "What?"
"I've told you probably the biggest mystery on our hands and all you do is hum?"
Nico hums once more to tease the male. "Okay, that's it. I'm on time out."
"You want to get on top of the fridge for that?"
"What? No."

Nero decides to sit down in front of Jason who has fallen asleep.

The white streaks on his hair have turned into a light gray.

Nero scratches the back of his neck as he leans back in his seat trying to figure out what or who Jason actually is.
There's something missing to bring the pieces together.

Then a tired moan escapes Jason's lips as he rolls around.
Nero smiles and decides to wrap the male up in a blanket for extra comfort.

Then he continues to watch Jason sleep while slowly drifting off as well.

8th September, 1 pm:

A loud honking noise wakes Nero up from his nap.
Nico laughs as she sees the male's puffy and confused face looking around the car. "We're home", She say while jumping out of the van.

Nero leans forward and shakes Jason to wake him up. "Hey, man. Time to wake up."
Jason groans as Nero shakes him by the shoulders.
"Come on, Jason. Let's go."
The said male flutters his eyes open and looks directly into Nero's.

"What happened", He asks with a groggy voice, even deeper than his natural tone.
"You outraged."
Jason's eyes widen.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. It's a spell Lapis showed me and I should use it when I'm in a pickle and-"
"Hey, calm down."
Nero grabs the male by his shoulders once again. "No one was harmed and that's the important part." He smiles at Jason who just blushes out of embarrassment.

"They scratched you... that's why I did it. I thought it might be too much to handle."
Nero chuckles. "I've fought my father. Trust me, those Empusas are nothing compared to him."

Jason smiles at Nero's attempt of cheering him up.
"Now let's get you to your room. You should rest."
Nero gives Jason a piggyback ride to his room. On the way they pass by a few orphans and, of course, Kyrie who has been worried sick.
Seeing Jason in his current state shocked her but Nero assured her that he's fine.

Nero enters Jason's room and puts him onto the bed.
There he tugs Jason in who is just blabbering weird things.
"Does that spell have any side effects", Nero asks as he dabs Jason's forehead with a wet towel.
"Just extrem exhaustion and a feeling that you humans describe as being drunk."
"Oh great."
Nero puts the wet towel aside and looks down onto Jason's face.
His cheeks are bright red just like the tip of his nose.

"Jason, are you okay?"
"Just a little hot."
The white haired male puts his palm onto Jason's forehead.
"Well, looks like you got a fever."
Jason's eyes widen. "What? No! Then I can't stay with you!"

Nero's face lights up in various shades of red after repeating Jason's words in his head over and over again.
"D-Do you mean that?"
Jason nods and pulls the sheets up to his nose.

"You will get sick if you stay here", Jason babbles.
Nero smiles at the male and cups his cheek. "I'll get you back on your feet, little fella."
