The day room smelled like popcorn and I loved the aroma it was invigorating.
I walked to the back of the room in the aisle where the chairs were lined up in rows, I saw everyone grabbing seats once they got off the massively long line that stood for the popcorn and refreshments.
I saw Martha walking out of the line with her group of idiots, her eyes met with me and she froze in her tracks making her friends look over at me, death glare.
I cleared my throat and I tried to adjust my demeanor because the sight of her made me instantly tense and go into defensive mode.
"Ehhrm..Martha. Can we talk?" I asked speaking lowly keeping my eyes on the ground and swaying back and forth.
I couldn't bare to look at her,
Both out of pity and fear that I might get too much enjoyment at looking at her bruised face and bandaged nose.
Two of her friends stepped in front of her to block us, as if I would attack her again.
If she gets me out of character I just might.
I stopped moving and I just eyed them intensely,
"Relax. I'm only trying to apologize." I placed my hands to my sides and glared at the two girls.
They folded their arms across their chests and puffed out hard in a defensive manner.
"You're fucking crazy, half dead." One girl spits at me with such anger.
I feel my jaw tense up and my pulse beginning to rise, I hate that fucking name!
"Don't call me that." I gritted lowly.
They raised their eyebrows laughing.
Martha was behind them and she started pulling them back to give her space to come infront of me.
"What do you want?" She asked with hints of fear coming out in her tone.
I cleared my throat to try and calm the building anger that was rising as I could see her two friends behind her with sinister grins.
"I came to apologize." I hesitated to say the words a few times.
But once they came out I felt a relief, this would be over.
But then I heard the two girls let out howling laughs and Martha turned to them and began laughing In return.
"I told you half dead, had no balls." Martha said laughing harder and wiping non existent tears and slapping her hands to her legs.
My eyes grew wide as the group of girls in front of me began to taunt my apology.
I felt my blood boiling and my first began to clinch tightly.
My breathing began to speed up and I felt the all to familiar rise of nervous about to over take my body.
"You're gonna explode huh, Half deeaaad." One of the girls shouted pointing at me and laughing harder.
I felt the tears building up but I bit on the inside of my cheek and I held my posture straight.
Then I felt a presence come behind me.
"Kindly would you mind shutting you're disgusting mouth, every time I hear you bitches laugh I want to stab my eardrums."
Miles.
Something inside me grew calm.
I could breath.
Martha and the two idiots stopped instantly glaring at Miles.
