Maggy was still tied up, and Askova went outside to try to learn how to shoot a gun.
" Ok, when you first shoot a gun, you need to know how to shoot with both hands," explained Dave. He put one hand on the gun, and the other under the gun. Askova did the same. She put her finger on the trigger, " Ok, you put your finger past the trigger when you're not shooting the gun, but when you're holding it. You only put your finger there when you're about to shoot." Dave showed her. Askova did the same.
" When you shoot the gun, you want to aim directly at the place, where you want to shoot. In this instance, the red dot." Askova pointed her gun at the red dot that was painted on a tree, about 20 feet in front of her, put her finger on the trigger, and pulled the trigger; it clicked. She smiled.
" When can I learn to shoot with real bullets inside?" asked Askova, looking at the gun. It was Michaelas M9.
" You can learn after you practiced some more," he answered, and left inside the house. Askova stood there, looking at the gun, and walked inside the house.
" Here," said Askova, handing the gun to Michaela. Michaela took it.
" Did you learn the basics?" asked Michaela, holstering her M9. Askova sighed and plopped down beside her.
" Barely. I can't shoot a gun with real bullets yet," complained Askova, kicking the ground.
" Hang in there, sport. You'll get it," said Michaela patting Askovas back. She got up and walked downstairs. Askova looked at the spot where Maggy was tied up.
" Wha..." Askova looked confused, and walked downstairs, where Michaela was headed. She stomped down the stairs, " hey, where's Maggy?" asked Askova. Once she did, everyone turned their heads towards her.
" Oh, hey Askova. Um, yeah, Maggys down here... working on her experiments," explained Lindsay. She turned back to Maggy.
" But she's supposed to be..." started Askova, pointing her thumb upstairs. Everyone had their heads turned to her, waiting for her answer, " nevermind. What is she working on?" asked Askova walking over to Maggy, and everyone else.
" She's still working on the cure for cannibal bites," replied Destiny, watching Maggy work.
" Is she working freely?" Askova asked once more.
" Well, we are watching her. And if we aren't, then Ray installed a chain and wrapped it around her, so she won't escape," explained Destiny.
" We knew you wouldn't approve of her walking around freely, so I used the chain, already attached to the wall, and connected it to Maggy," said Ray.
" Someone has trust issues," whispered Willow to Michaela. Michaela snickered. Askova crossed her arms.
" Guys, that's not funny," retorted Derek crossing his arms. Maggy was mixing chemicals together, and boiling them. Dave appeared behind Askova, carrying a tray full of skin, blood samples, and meat.
" Dare I ask?" sighed Askova to Dave.
" Maggy asked for these cannibal samples. Sorry," he replied, placing the tray down next to Maggy. Maggy grabbed a pair of pliers, and picked up a piece of cannibal meat, and placed it under a microscope.
" Fascinating," commented Ray in a whisper, holding her hands on her chin. Everyone, including Askova, was watching Maggy work. Maggy's head lifted.
" I prefer to work alone. I don't like being
watched," said Maggy keeping her head up, talking without turning her head to them when speaking. She then placed her head back down in the microscope. Askova whispered to Michaela.
" Keep an eye on her, just in case," whispered Askova. Michaela nodded and sat down on a bench in the room. Everyone else left to go upstairs.
" We need to go hunting. We're going to run out of food," commented Dave. He got out the M16A1, " you're going with him. He'll teach you more about shooting a gun." Askova looked excited. Dave whispered in Derek's ear, " you're doing it because I don't trust her." Dave handed the M16A1 to Derek, and Askova grabbed her sword. She looked at Dave before she left to hunt with Derek.
