"He what?" Randy asked confused.

"Asked me to collect the designs and imrovements. Then he will review it first and call you later."
Mandy said wondering.

"Girl when you where my secretary, did you see the boss secretary to come here?"
Mandy shook her head.
"Did he send the secretary to buy food for him.?"
Again Mandy shook her head.
"Because it is the errands work not yours.

"But there is no errands anymore, and the secretary is turned into personal secretary. Got it? That is what the HR told me this morning."
Mandy sighed.
"Now can i have it?"

Randy gave her the folders and she left.
She put the folders on the boss desk.
"These are the updated and these are the new ones. Sir" She gave a chased smile.

"Why it took you so long to get these?" The CEO is serious and seems mad.

"They double checked it first sir making sure before handing it sir."
Mandy tried to hide the chitchat she had with Randy.

"Okay, youcan get back to your desk now." He smiled fakely Mandy walked towards the door and befire she opened it.

"Mandy, idf you want to have a chit chat with the boh friend. Do it lunch break or at night nit in the office during working hours."
His voice is loud mono tone hard to read.

Mandy turbed around.
"Yes sir i understand." She said and she left the room.

She cant cry. She cant smile. She cant laugh. She cant even text. Is she being watched?
She sighed

Tears are clouding her eyes. She heard the doors opened and she pretended sneazing. Then wiped her eyes and nose with the tissue then she pretended sneazing again.

"There is a bussiness dinner tonight. You should come." Ryan said in command.

"What time sir?" She asked casually.

"After work no need to change clothes it will nit take long anyway. I will drive us both.
At five we will leave"

"Yes sir," she answered.

The boss turned around.
She again pretended to sneaze.

She fastly texted Randy about it. Then recieved a thumbs up sticker.

She opened her files and reviewed about the company assets and strenghts. How to cover flaws and everything.
This is bussiness meeting last time she attended it. It was serious and nerve wrecking she must be prepared as tge personal secretary of the CEO she should have known better.

While digging and reading again the boss phone blinked.

"Get ready in 10 minutes we are leaving."
Hangs out.

She opened her make up bag bring out her mirror and retouched her make up. Not to much. Hold up her hair in a tight ponytail. She now have the sophisticated office girl look.
She is ready and on her phone when she heard the door opened.

She locked the office door and her cabimets then followed the boss to the elevator.
Again het head is down.

Silent kills her

During the old times he was the total opposite. He was the light of the party. When they are alone like this he always have a qay to break the silence. He knows how to make her laugh or smile.
Randy is right. He is not so him anymore.

She almost jumped but hold herself not to be embarassed for waking up.
They are in the parking lot. She followed the boss. The car lit and sounded opened then she open the passenger's seat beside the driver's seat. Put on seat belt and setled herself.

The boss watched her but heads on the road when she is setled. If she only looked a glance she should have seen the smirk on the boss face.

They went to an expensive restaurant. She had been here.many times during meetings and office affairs with the old boss.

20 minutes passed the other party of the meeting did not appear yet. The boss decided to order.

"What do you like?" The boss asked.
"Chicken and veggies please." She said plainly.

The boss ordered a lot then the waiter left.

Mandy looks at everywhere except the boss face in front of her.

"Mandy look at me." In his commanding voice.
Mandy looked at him not in the eyes but in the nose checks lips hair ears jawline, never in the eyes.

"At ease Mandy, dont be too nervous. No one will harm you here."

In response she nods and drink water just served . Then food start to come.

As they eat the boss asked light questions not personal but about the people in the company. More like a similar to gossip.
The conversation lighten Mandy's mood and made boss atease. But in her heart she feels like talking to a casual acquaintance not the person she once knew, once called best friend

An hour pass and the bussiness partner did not appear.

Dessert was served and still no one came.

After dessert. The boss decided to call it a day.

"So i will send you home?" He asked or insisted?

"No need sir i can go home on my own. There are lots of taxi here. And to where i live we can call cab services." She said.

"Okay, take care then. But let us send you off on a taxi or cab first." Not a request but a command.

She gathered her bag. An they walk to the main door of the restaurant. Taxi stopped she rode in and thanked her boss then closed the door the taxi moved before she said her destination.

She called her best friend and the bestfriend said he will go to her house.

They meet in the gate. When she came down from the taxi. Her best friend arrives in his casual clothes.

Mandy tell about everything.
"You said it was bussiness meeting but no one came?" Randy asked.
She nods.
"Have you observed if he looked at his phone texed anyone or called anyone?"

"Yes he did, time to time he texted and even excused himself after desserts. Then declared the meeting was rescheduled.
"He asked to send me home. Hell no not gonna give my address!" She exclaimed
"I am so pissed off this whole day."

They are sipping on a wine 4% alcohol content.

"I need this job, i need to keep it. My new salary is promising. And my benefits. So more patient." Sha sighed again.

"Best i wanna be with you but gotta take the call." Randy excused himself walked few meters away from her.

After a while,
"Best, i need to go Fabio is back!" He said excitedly.

"Drive safely, and have fun hey drive safely."
She emphasized safely.
"I will and lock your doors."

Mandy gathered the unfinished wine and glasses then locked up inside. Few more minutes the lights are off except the lights outside.

Three houses away..
A car lighted and passed the house stopped for a while then left.
