As Becca made her way to the house, a woman rushed out.
Well, not so much a woman. Maybe a young adult. She looked to be about eighteen and of Japanese descent. Her hair way styled into a side shaven pixie cut with purple tips. A rather bold, but good look on her.
Her blue eyes narrowed when they caught sight of Alex. "Oh," She began,"It's just you."
Alex smirked. "Well hello to you too, Hira."
Hira completely ignored Alex and turned to Becca. "What happened this time?" She asked simply.
"He got shot in the leg." Becca replied with an eye roll, as if this were a normal occurrence.
Hira scoffed. "I should have known. The little douche would've pushed someone past their limits eventually."
"You guys do know that I'm right here, don't you?" Alex asked with narrowed eyes.
"That's why we're saying it, dipshit." Becca smirked.
"OH MY GOODNESS! ALEX!"
All eyes turned back towards the house to where a rather pudgy elderly lady was running our way. "Alex?! What happened?!?" She asked, absolutely horrified.
"Well, we got ambushed by some EH Bounty hunters and I got doused in water, subdued, and shot." Alex shrugged."It's a wonderful start to the morning, if you ask me." He said sarcastically.
I let out a small giggle and it was if everyone noticed me at once.
"Who's she?" Hira asked.
The elderly lady looked at me and gasped. "You're the girl we sent Alex after, aren't you?" She asked, with a small smile.
I shrugged before nodding. It was a confusing answer, but the lady seemed to understand. "Ah! Circe! That's it! We saw you on the news! I'm glad Alex found you when he did." She grabbed my shoulder and smiled again. I smiled back, if not to eliminate that awkward feeling in the air, it was at least to feel a little bit of normality.
Alex cleared his throat. "Um, hello? I'm bleeding out over here."
"Oh, shush! You were perfectly fine until Circe started getting all of the attention." She turned to Hira. "Hira, could you be a dear and remove the bullet, please?"
Hira shrugged and her eyes began to glow gold as she waved her hands. Alex yelled out in pain as the small bronze metal drifted from his leg and into Hira's now outstretched palm. "Got it." She said simply.
Telekinetic I mentally noted.
"Now," The elderly woman began. "Let's get everyone inside and settled." She turned to Alex. "You have to come with me to the infirmary. Hira, could you-" Before she could even finish, Hira had grabbed Alex from Becca's arms and taken him into her own.
I tried not to laugh at Alex's upset expression. He didn't look too happy about being carried about and passed around like some kind of baby.
"And as for you, Circe," She looked over my clothes and I could tell she was hiding a wince. "I'm sure that Hira has something for you to wear until we can get you something else."
A young girl stepped into the doorway as we approached. She looked to be no older than six and her long blonde hair was held out of her face in a ponytail. When I was close enough to determine what her eye color was, I was shocked to see that they were a dull lifeless grayish blue.
She was blind.
"Ms. Duboise, is Alex back?" She asked sweetly, stepping back to let us all through.
