Chapter 3 ~ Scan Rooms & Elevators

    Meredith was looking at some of her patient's scans when Andrew walks in the room. "Deluca, what are you doing here?" she asked. Andrew replied, "I'm on your service this week." "Okay then," Meredith said, "what do you see on these scans?" "I see that we would need to page Cardio, and this patient should probably go on the transplant list." Andrew turns his attention away from the scans and looks at Meredith. "You are absolutely correct, Deluca. You're going to be a great surgeon." Meredith looks back at him. "Well, you amaze me Dr. Grey and while I'm feeling brave, I'm not sorry I kissed you at the wedding cause it's all I've been able to think about ever since. And I know you have options, but I want you to know I'm one of them." Andrew is starting to close the space between them. "I am your attending." Meredith tries to keep that space between them open, but she can't move. "No no no, don't do that, okay. This isn't some kind of abuse of power. I'm not an intern, I'm a senior resident." Andrew continues to close the space. "You dated my sister." Meredith spits out the words like they would mean something to him. "Maggie doesn't care, like deeply does't care." She can feel his words hit her and she doesn't know how to respond. "Deluca." she whispers. "Meredith." She still doesn't know how to respond to him, so she says his name again, thinking it will try to push him farther away, "Andrew." "Look," Andrew starts, "I think there's something here and we can keep going through all the excuses of why not, but I think you feel it too." Andrew and Meredith touch foreheads and they are about to kiss when Meredith suddenly pulls back. "I can't Andrew."
    Meredith walks on to the elevator getting ready to go up to the OR to operate on her patient when suddenly, Andrew walks on the elevator too. "Are you following me now? Is that what's happening here?" Meredith asks Andrew. "Uh, I'm going to your OR. I'm on the case." Andrew replies, laughing at her question. "Oh, right. I forgot." Meredith chuckles nervously. "Well, I'll just stand back here, not saying anything, and I won't look at you." Andrew goes to stand at the back of the elevator. He said that he wouldn't look at her, but he can't help himself, so he looks. Then, the elevator stops. Meredith presses the button again but nothing happens. They're trapped in the elevator together. "I think we're stuck..." she tries pushing the buttons once more, again nothing happens. "Crap, I forgot there's a really bad wind storm out there today. Must've knocked out a power line or something. Try calling or texting someone on your phone." Both Meredith and Andrew try calling someone but they don't have any service. One hour later, Andrew is holding Meredith up to the trap door trying to see if it can be opened, "It looks like we would need a key to open it." He sets her back on the ground, but he's still holding her. "Remind me again why this is such a bad idea for us?" Meredith replies with, "Because it's a bad idea." She didn't know what else to say. "No, I hear you, but I'm asking why?" Andrew wants to know so badly why he can't just have her. He knows there's something there with her, but he wants her to give him one reason why that's not work related. "Because I'm an attending and you're a resident." Meredith can't think of anything else but that. "And that happens all the time. Its happened for you I think?" And it did happen with Meredith. The great love story of intern Meredith and attending Derek. "Well, I'm trying to learn from my mistakes." She can feel him looking at her, like his look is burning into her in the best way possible. "I'll try not to tell your kids you called them that." He chuckles a little and so does she. "My marriage and my kids aren't a mistake." "Then what are you leaning exactly?" He's smiling at her now, and Meredith seems to be enjoying his company. "I don't know. Just go back to speaking Italian. I liked it better." So he did. "When you finally let me kiss you, and you will let me kiss you, I won't ever stop." But little did Andrew know, Meredith had a little trick up her sleeve. "Did I tell you I took three years of Italian in undergrad?" Meredith says, speaking Italian. "Wow" Andrew says, stunned. "Yeah." Andrew starts closing the space between them again and right when they were about to kiss, the elevator doors open and they run out to get too the OR.

    Scan room scene is Season 15 Episode 8 and the elevator scene is Season 15 Episode 9. This chapter is pretty long... kinda got super into writing it lol.
