Chapter 26 ~ Almost There

Meredith is now 7 months pregnant and it is around this time when she needs her kids to help her and Andrew out more than anything. She still operates, but soon, her and Andrew are going to need to take a maternity and paternity leave so they can take care of their new baby. They wanted the gender to be a surprise, but they have already picked names for it. If their baby is a boy, his name will be Anthony. Andrew chose the name, simply because he liked it. If the baby is a girl, her name will be Lexie, in honor of Meredith's younger sister who died in the plane crash. Bailey told Mer that she shouldn't work as much as she normally does so she can prepare for the arrival of the baby. Meredith agreed to continue her work in the lab and see patients every now and then when she was needed. Alex walks in the door to the lab to find Mer. "No Andrew today?" he asks. "Nope. He stayed at home to get some things for the baby. I believe he's building the crib right now." she responds. "Oh okay. Never mind then. I wanted to bring him in on a case, but I'll ask him tomorrow." Alex is about to walk out the door when Mer says, "You can page him. He told me that if anyone needed anything, they could page him and he'll come." "Okay, thanks Mer." Alex walks out of the lab already starting to page Andrew for this case that he wanted him in on. It must be something big because if Alex, an attending Peds surgeon, needed Andrew, an attending General Surgeon, the case must be very special and big.
